Having issues with Pentax 12-24 at 12mm, dark long erratic artifacts in corners, only at 12mm maybe some at 13mm. Any ideas what is causing this?

Slow LCD Preview K5II

It seems that the time it takes to display the LCD preview (about 4-5 second) has slowed down. Using SanDisk Extreme 45/s 32GB, RAW at highest resolution. My old K10D is almost instant preview using same SD card. Is anyone else experiencing the same results?

I passed by this old stable for two years on the way to and from work, just though there would be some thing to photograph. There was no way to park near by and it was posted, so I had to walk 45 minutes through the woods to sneak in.

Thanks, had not idea about the DFS, that sure speeds things up. As far as battery issue, I think the batter is bad (old). I tried a different fully charged battery with no issues.

Thanks again for the input.

Battery Issue Long Exposure K5II

I am just now trying my hand at long exposure. With a fully charged battery I shot one 2 min. exposure and then on the second one the battery was depleted. This can't be normal. Also, after finishing a two min. exposure ,is it normal for the camera to take about a minute to process. I noticed for the first time a count down on the top LCD panel, is this normal?

Thanks for any input you can offer.

Need some assistance with using long telephoto lens. I have a K-5II and rented a Sigma 150-500mm, could not get sharp pictures, actually they were terrible. I used a tripod, with stabilization on both lens and camera turned off. I have seen photos using this lens and the K5II and the looked great. What if anything am I doing wrong?

Dose anyone know if the new 1.4 TC would be compatible with 3rd party lens? Specifically some of the Sigma telephoto zooms that do do not support Sigma TC. Also, dose anyone know why the Sigma lens do not support TC's?

I have worked for Japanese companies for over 20 years, and this is typical business style (relationship between Japan and US subsidiary) for Japanese companies. It not necessarily bad news.

Long telephoto advise

I am using a K10D, and would like some long lens advice for shooting wildlife. As of now looking at three options:

1. Sigma 150-500mm F5-6.3
2. Pentax DA* 300mm F4 with 1.4x converter
3. Pentax DA* 200mm with a 2x converter

Any advise would be most appreciated.

I understand that the K5 will allow much higher ISO, but I am thinking that a higher quality lens will give me much more sharper images. For low light situations, will faster lens or higher ISO give me better quality pictures?

New to Pentax forum. I have never submitted any of my pictures for critique before. I like what I take, but would like some other opinions, and any help anyone would be willing to give me. Thanks
