Hi Everyone, I'm letting go most of my gears in time for my first year of law school. I will be heavily in debt with little or no time to shoot again. Hope I can find a nice home for these lovely things.

First up:

1. Pentax K-3 (black w/ original box and accessory, 3 batteries, original and wasabi charger, screen protectors) - SOLD

I purchased this camera here from another member several months ago for my summer traveling. The camera works as new. It has screen protector on since day one per original user. I paired the K-3 with the 15mm, 31mm, 77mm ltds and the 55-300mm zoom. It performed brilliantly with all of the lens under variety of situations (low light concert, crowded picnics, both in door and out door). I will save some time and not quote from all the reviews here. Just couple small things need to be noted: the previous owner shot quite a bit with it, the shutter count is at mid to high 8k range last time I checked; there is one thin scratch on the back screen protector, not too noticeable; one of the bottom foot rest (the tiny protruding metal foot) lost the black coating, I presume the previous owner put a lot grip on the base plate. No other issues as I can tell, see pics below.

2. Pentax DA 15mm F4 ED AL Ltd (Original box, pouch) Asking - SOLD

I purchased this lens here also from another member. Very nice wide angle prime with amazing sharpness and color rendition. I used it a lot for street photography (captures everything while in people's face). I have always used a B+W filter with the lens (not part of sale). No issue from what I can tell other than a small silver spot on the focus ring.

3. Pentax DAL 55-300mm F4-5.8 (comes with aftermarket Hood and cap, Kenko filter) $170 - Shipped (reduced)

I purchased this lens with my original K-x kit back in 2006. Very good budget long zoom. Always used a UV filter, no issues.

4. Pentax AF 540FGZ Flash (comes with original box, travel bag, and diffuser) - Pending

I purchased this very mint condition flash here from another member. Rarely used it since the LTDs I have been using are fast enough for most conditions. Battery door is in perfect condition, so is the foot. Solid performer on both Kx and the K-3.

PS - I have FOUR spare 2CR5 Lithium batteries, some old Minolta and Canon lens. Could throw them in (Free) if buyer is interested.

Hi,

I'm new to the forum and photography. Pretty inexperienced with trouble shooting photo equipments.

I recently purchased a brand new sigma 17-70 f2.8-4.0 HSM to pair up with my K-x. The lens is from authorized US dealer.

When I mounted the lens for some test shots, I found that it will often focus hunt, especially with single colored flat wall, even under well lit conditions.

I have tried to focus on the same object in all AF point settings. It would often jump between two points not too far apart, one behind, one in front of the desired spot each time I half press the shutter.

In the view finer the octagon focus symbol would flash and I will have to keep trying half pressing the shutter until it finds the focus. (2-5 tries). The result is not too sharp either.

The HSM focusing system is a lot quieter but not as fast as I expected. For close shots, the focus would adjusted in little steps couple times, each time making a little motor noise.

I have a feeling that my copy might be defective. With my little experience, I can't say for sure if this is the lens or a body calibration issue.

I appreciate any comment from the helpful users here and thank ahead for any suggestion !
