Thanks for the comments......
Whitby is on the Yorkshire East Coast overlooking the North Sea and at he end of the Yorkshire moors. Hardy Country is in the county of Dorset in south west England adjacent to the English Channel. The countryside is quite different in character for either an dboth have numerous possibilities for photographs.

Wel this shot was made with the 'kit zoom' at it's widest and looking up so perspective WAS distorted, However, it does do justice to this spot which is incredibly steep up to the ruins of the abbey,......Have a look at my other shot entitled 'Lets take a picture' and you will get some idea. https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/post-your-photos/82151-streets-lets-take-picture.html
For this shot I don't particularly care for the 'tilted' street lamp so may re-edit to correct the verticals and see what it looks like......

No I don't but strangely enough I recently cleared out some 300 old prints made with the Rolleiflex's that were in my loft. Among these were prints from the mid 1960's made when I was a pro photographer which included a lot of 'pop' stars shot in rehearsals for the TV prog 'Ready Steady Go!'...and, I posted one of my favourites of the late Dusty Springfield on the Rangfinderforum under the 'TLR' section in a topic called 'show your TLR shots'.......also a pic of the tele-Rolleiflex used.
Why do you ask?

Wow!...Scott-Devon, thank you!! This is the only digital landscape that I have ever entered for a photo contest but all it attracted was alot of comments about all the many things that are 'wrong' with it.......
.........However, I'm quite pleased with it and like to look at it sometimes.

Ash,.. it's camera movement as this was shot on the instant when the wheel was rising for the last time at this venue and I had wanted exactly this inclination. Actually I only 'editied' (in picassa) for colours a little and I like the colours best about the shot.

Ash,...interesting comments thankyou. This is only a snapshot taken on an instant, but I did conciously include the dark tree to edge/frame the shot,..or as a contrast to the lawn. This part of the garden is not designed to be "pretty" at all as it's a very formal area. The "pretty bits are elswhere....

Fast landscape with K100D and attempts in Picassa to get the dynamic range together enough to show the clouds,...and partially succeeded! |

Peter,..thank you so much for your help and insightful comments,...it is indeed the similarity to the Dutch school that has always appealed to me about this shot. I will try your adjustment suggestions, thank you.
