This shot was taken at the last day of Bournemouth Air Festival 2014 with a RAF Eurofighter as the subject on a flight display while the moon was on waning crescent and visible at late afternoon. My shutter speed was a bit short to show a bit of shaking while I got the Pentax K-30 hand held with the heavy Sigma lens. Well, that was the best I could make of that 'crucial' opportunity at such exact moment I managed to 'frame' such exquisite scene..

Well, getting rid of Mrs. Rupert is actually out of the question but I hope she won't be the one to open up that choice for you, her or Sticky.

I vote that he stays, lol. That Bigma shot isn't that bad at all, I just acquired a mint Sigma Ex Apo 100-300 f4 IF and i don't know if the IQ could compare.

Ok lang dito kabayan, tiis tiis lang pero nakapag afford din ng ganitong hobby. I'm just glad to compare that Pentax K-5 still cost a lot back home where it has slowly taken a price drop here. Other Pentax cameras are priced quite the same as in here and I suspect the optimum low price for cameras could really be enjoyed if bought from Hidalgo camera shops back home. Salamat for taking time to update us of this Philippine prices to compare with (if Pentax assembly line in the Philippines really does contribute a factor). Best regards and we could only hope for the final outcome of the these latest Pentax products rumors after Photokina expose everything about two weeks from now.

Thanks for confirming, kabayan. I will be very much pleased if you could post the price range for pentax products in peso starting from Pentax Q, K-r, K-5, K-30, K-01 so I could weigh better where should I buy any further equipment, here in UK or at home when I get any holiday. Best regards.

Basically looks like a K-5 with a fixed lens. Anyway even the model name itself speaks for it, they just replaced a K with an X. Then considering that you claimed it is a preproduction model and you're from Manila makes a lot of sense since most Pentax DSLRs are assembled in the Philippines (I have verified the bottom of a K-r and a K-5 and the name Hoya Corporation and assembled in the Philippines stands out, I suppose if the X-5 still bears that mark while Pentax has been repossessed by Ricoh then we could assume the assembly line in the Philippines remains).

The thing about pictures is it speaks for itself. No wonder why there was that saying "pictures paint a thousand words". Basically the essence of an image good or bad is just a figment of the imagination of those who have eyes to see it, appreciate it or despise it. So everyone who have eyes to see these pictures would have endless conradictory statements on how it was done, who took it, if it looks awful, who's to be blamed. The rulers of the nations of the world haven't got all of their actions documented by pictures however and if we couldn't blame them for how the world crisis came to being I don't see any reason for anyone to blame a photographer for snapping pictures on a wrong subject much less blame another photographer for making bad opinions about the pictures taken by another photographer. In a sense this is what makes pentaxforums far interesting than facebook...at least just for me.

Excellent entries though stunning and quite confusing to rule out the best, the category itself simplifies the basic composition, "shadows".

I had finally set the options to permitted in the menu which was hard to find. I'm amused that there are lots of options I still fail to discover for a month with this camera. I had the shutter released and was very glad for the assistance, guys. The rest remains for the camera to be adjusted to make the image recognizable though. I hope I could still make some good pictures with this $48 manual lens (still in mint condition though).
Thanks a lot for your efforts, everyone.

The Kr has a bit different menu options and I couldn't find 'permitted' from any of the aperture setting options. I already set the switch to MF instead of AF but the shutter speed indicator remains blank and the F_ _ kept flashing.
