This is my first post alongside all the startlingly good pictures on this thread. I bought my Kr to take pictures of the birds in the garden but the long lenses are, from necessity, modestly priced although I think they are still better than my skills. A Pentacon 300mm f4 and Tamron z-500.
Prosaic subjects of chaffinch and a pigeon. Any comments/ hints welcome.
Thanks

I bought the K-r to take pictures of the birds in the garden. Then I started to get a bit obsessive. I decided to buy a cheap, long lens that could sit on a tripod looking out of the window. This just happened to come up. I'm not intending to carry it around much, if at all. Obsessive but not masochistic.
It was only when I got the K-r that I realised how much I missed using my old OM which went around the world with me many years ago. That and how much I don't know about photography. So the Z-500 is just a bit of fun, a tool to learn with and maybe help me work out what I do want in the future. Learning how to focus again is a shock. I miss the split screen in the OM. Must remember to pull out the lens hood! Fun as well, and I'm sure I'll grow out of it, a x2 TC.
Below is what I'm assuming is the serial number.

Looks like mine is the same as yours excanonfd. Serial no. 481287 if that helps.

Excanonfd forgot to say. Yes there is a plastic extension to the focus ring. This was what made me think I had a z-500 from the few pictures I could find.

Looking carefully one of the mounting flanges was bent. I've eased it up and it now fits.
This is the back end of the lens excanonfd. I think I've got one heck of a learning curve with this beast.
Thanks for your help

Lens and mount came together - old 200-500mm f6.9 (?Z-500).
Thanks

Hi
Recently bought my K-r and thought I'd try the backwards compatibility so bought an adaptall lens. Unfortunately I can't get the mount to engage in the camera body sufficient to engage the locking pin. It seems to go round about half way and stop. Same fitting it to a TC as a test. I was worried about applying much force until I had some advice. Can anyone help?
Pictures of the mount below.
