What is fastest SD card compatible with Pentax 645Z?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread. Is it normal to wait for 10 seconds after a single shot to be able to see the preview on the 645Z? I find that after either a single shot or burst of shots, I have to wait quite a while usually to be able to preview the pictures on the LCD. I have the Samsung Select microSD card in its SD card adapter.

$600 to repair PENTAX LENS 24-70/2.8 ED SDM Precision Repair, terms of service renege

Hi Teddy,

Did you buy the lens new with credit card? Most credit cards would extend warranty by a year from date
of purchase so credit card company will pay your repair bill if it is covered by credit card's extended warranty.

Thanks.

Joey

Replacing my k5iis - need input on upgrading or replacing

Sony glasses are very expensive, so I would not recommend it if you do not have a large budget or require autofocus with your existing lenses.

Kp maybe the most sensible if you buy new, but I have seen used K1 for $1000 if you can stretch your budget a bit and don’t mind the weight.

are you happy with switching to FF?

For landscapes or printing big, I think 36MP+ FF would have the advantage over APSC. For portraits or family vacation snapshot, where super fine detail may not be of concern, 20+MP (APSC or FF) should be plenty good.

Yes they should be if you disable cropping in body. Corner sharpness may not be best, but you have to judge if that’s a good trade off.

Would you upgrade from the K20d to the K5?

The K20D is a fine camera. It felt great in the hands when I had tested it for a friend years back. I wouldn’t upgrade at all unless I feel the camera is imposing some limitations on me. If not, just have fun with it.

Just found this thread. My DA 35 F2.4 also focuses terribly with off center focus points. I guess it’s liveview or focus-recompose from now on for this lens.

My question would be what can’t you do with Pentax that can be done with others? And why haven’t you switched if you need the feature offered by the other brand? It seems simpler to switch or run two systems than getting Ricoh to do more than what they are willing to do currently. They are still sorting out their finances and don’t have cash cows to subsidize the camera division unlike Olympus or Fuji.

There should be a menu item that locks exposure when focus is locked.

Nice effort. I would suggest you find a vantage point where you can photograph the building without obstruction such as the trees blocking parts of the building, if your focus is the building, that is.
