hi all. i have the photodiax adapter with lock<->open slider and just played around with DA10-17 fish eye and M-50mm 1.7.
both looks "ok", here i give one with the fish eye (at 17mm, handheld at room lighting, iso 400) but there are couples questions i want to ask:
1. on the adapter i have to keep the slider to "open" is that correct? if i move slightly to the lock direction the picture will be darker.
2. has anyone dare to bring Q and only pk lens (or lenses) for travelling/holiday? or too risky and better put the original Q lense (i only have the number 1 lens)?
if so please recommend which one i have to bring:
M-50mm 1.7
DAL 18-55mm kit
DA 18-250mm
DA 10-17mm
Sigma 17-70mm 2.8-4.5

Ok thanks. Tried to look but other 10-17mm threads were old. I thought my issue is because of this specific lens only, since with my kit lens II get ok photos.

hi all, maybe bit out of topic since i dont own k5 but i have recently purchased 10-17mm with k-x.
need some advise on how to properly use this lens:
when using it outdoor, i got the sky white-ish, and not blue. what should i do? tried to shoot at different f-numbers (Av settings), all the same.
should i shoot with Tv settings ?

hi.
Anyone kind enough to share, detail procedures on how to use k-q adapter with aperture ring, both for DA lenses and non-DAs?
like what setting need to change on the Q itself, then should i close or open the aperture ring on the adapter, and then how to get good picture/how to do manual focus.

hi all, i have bought the adapter by RJ on ebay, it has aperture open/lock and tripod.

So my question, how can i use that aperture thing?
below is my understanding using my own lenses as examples:
because camera cannot control aperture on lens with this adapter, so:
* for lens WITOUT aperture ring (example: DA, DAL 18-55mm kit lens) i set aperture on adapter to LOCK (or to OPEN???) and set aperture on camera manually
* for lens WITH aperture ring (example: old pentax-M manual focus 50mm f1.7, tamron 90mm f2.8 macro), i set aperture on adapter to OPEN, and decide on aperture on the lens manually.
is the above correct?

First, I am in Sydney - Australia and own Pentax K-X
Want to get Pentax DA 10-17mm FishEye, good condition and price. Pentax Australia sells brand new for AUD529, so I expects second hand cost around $350-380 delivered.

and because i have m42 to PK mount, i also interested on Cheap M42 Fisheyes /pancake lenses....
basically i am after as wide as possible lens, and sexy looking thin slim lenses (pancake)

just heard from someone that the original adapter has shutter built in on it? and the ebay ones dont have.
why shutter build in makes the adapter better?
im planning to use this adapter on my 50mm manual focus, 90mm tamron macro AF, 24-80mm AF

hi pat, thanks for the review. i think i found it. its around USD50 now. not as cheap as i imagine :)
anyway, im thinking to use it with my tamron macro 90mm. my vivitar 300mm maybe too heavy for the tripod mount hole. im wondering if the official adapter is way much better but again no point since i just cant spend $250 for it.

Hi. can you tell me which pk to q adapter you have bought? (and from where).
does it comes with tripod hole? if yours is from ebay, how good the build quality? expecially the joint between adapter and tripod thingy (we dont want it to be break while mounting longzoom lenses)
I have pentax K-x with few k-mounts lenses (prime,autofocus,etc) so im thinking to use those lenses with my new Q
