Wow! Glad that I saw this on FB this evening. I was going to order one from Adorama this weekend. I guess it will be Monday now. I currently use a K20D with a K10D or K100DSuper. I will be glad to have the K5 for my vacations this coming year in the Tucson, AZ area, Okinawa, Japan, and Hawaii.

I believe it is your mirror. I was just in Japan last week using my K10D when I was shooting, the shutter opened and it acted like a long exposure. The mirror stayed in the up position and the shutter curtain was closed. It banged on the camera and the mirror went to the normal position. It took a couple more pictures normally and then the camera started to sound like it was taking a picture any time I half pressed the shutter button to autofocus or touched any button on the camera or turned it on or off. On closer inspection I found the mirror is not all the way down. I will have to send it in for repair. Thank God I had my K20D with me on that trip!!
