The male waiting and watching over the nesting box where the female has gone to lay another egg. We have now reached 8 eggs in the nesting box, from two different females (videos available to back this up).

The Mogollon Rim in the northeastern part of Arizona is where the Colorado plateau abruptly ends and falls about 1,500 feet down to a wonderland of pine forests. Runoff season has begun, with lingering snow on the top of the rim and rushing streams below. K1-II + DA* 300mm.

Discontinued But Not Dead

Even though discontinued, the KP is maintaining it's price on the used the market. I noted it being offered at over $700 at KEH. Meanwhile, the more "advanced" K-3 mark 1 and 2 cameras usually fetch about half that. People have figured out that the KP is a special camera among Pentax DSLRs. I use mine for telephoto landscapes, wildlife and birding, and cycling-around photograph. It immediately became my compact camera of choice, easily eclisping my m43 camera (the KP's not much bigger but produces better images and is just more pleasurable to work with). It's of course a great camera for use with the limited lenses. But it also works really well the DA 55-300 PLM for telephoto landscapes. I'm not aware of a better compact set-up for that type of photography. Images shot with that combo using pixel shift come very close to FF quality.

Some samples:

Yes, the Pentax KP was discontinued as everyone knows but it is not dead as far as producing great photos with the Pentax HD DA 20-40mm f/2.8-4 ED Limited.

A cracking set of photos, Asahi_, :) Back when I had my 200/2.5 (from spring 1985 to 1992 in Winnipeg, Manitoba), I can't recall ever taking snaps of birds or, for that matter, wildlife  I did, however, take a bunch of concert, spot news and feature snaps for a couple of newspapers and that SMC 200/2.5 had great contrast and, when I did a good job of focussing, got some decent snaps :) ... I'll try attach a few .. and I got lucky with one NHL hockey snap

Cheers and continued great shooting :)

Final shot in this sequence of images of churches in the Grantham (Lincolnshire, UK) area.

St. Wulfram's church again, on a misty morning. I actually went to a primary school immediately adjacent to this viewpoint (from the ages of 7-11) and became so familiar with the fact that one corner of the tower is outsize that I hardly even notice it any more. This is because that's where the spiral staircase runs up the tower (years later, I'd often walk up those stairs to ring the church bells!).

GR III monochrome special modification for VIS+IR

I did this special modification of GR III monochrome to have possibility to shoot infrared and visible spectrum with one camera just changing 49 mm diameter filters. Sensor has special protective filter with anti-reflective coating (600-1000 nm) and some modification to effectively suppress undesirable infrared emission from GR lens' electronics. Pictures shot with 720 nm filter with slight editing in LR.
