Here's something I came across while browsing eBay. I have never seen this type of lens for Pentax. Any thoughts on this?

A Scanning Project

Here's my take on your picture. I did a histogram adjustment and moved the black point higher. Then adjusted the midtones. Corel paintshop pro has a very useful feature called salt and pepper filter which removes small spots that are usually found on film. Didn' remove all the scratches because it;s 40C here and I'm lazy as one can be today. Then added a little clarity and some local contrast enhancement. After that just burned the area of the car to give it a subtle separation from the background.
Also have a look at one of my past restoration attempts.
Constructive criticism is welcome.

Help needed in indentifying 120 film type

The speed of the film was written on the tape on the beginning of the spool: ASA100, that was all the information. Guess I'll sacrifice a frame and have it developed to see exactly what it is but I also tend to believe that this is some sort of BW film. Thanks for the help guys. Now the next challenge will be finding a lab that still does this type of film :)

Hey guys,
I need some help with a roll of 120 film. I found this roll of 120 film, the film was unexposed, and asked a friend to lend me his Seagull camera. Everything went ok and I shot the entire roll, but this is where it gets interesting. The roll was missing it's original box and there is no marking on the roll. Nothing. Any ideas on how to identify this film in order to get it developed? Here's a picture of the roll.

@theflyingjocksman Those are some nice shots. From what I've seen so far while shooting industrial sites like steel mills and other metal processing factories using the on-board camera flash is a big no no. What I have found when using it is that the dust particles in front of the camera will reflect the flash light back in huge amounts, ruining the shot. Off camera flashes are a good option, otherwise use a good tripod and long exposures. If you're interested in industrial photography check out IKF Industriekultur-Fotografie , the site is german but most of the guys speak english.

Same problem here, faulty card. Camera kept freezing. After a while the card died right after I managed to transfer the files to my laptop. Replaced faulty card with new one, no problems since.

Battery/Power Problem - CRIS's Repair

Firmware is usually located in the main microcontroller of an electronic system. I am inclined to believe that in case of digital cameras this resides in the image processor (the main microcontroller for this case). Anyway it sounds they replaced the whole electronic system in the camera. Seems it's much cheaper for them to replace the entire electronic module than to seek out and repair individual components.

Thin lines in scanned image

Tried that, no change. Guess is just misalignment of the sensor in the scanner head. The sensor assembly is held in place with 2 screws about 2mm thick withe hole thru the PCB is like 5-6mm. I'll try some minor adjustments, hope it works. Anyway no more colored lines. So that is still progress :)

what's interesting is that when scanning at 4800dpi they seem to disappear, I mean they are only slightly visible at 150% magnification, and the green color disappears completely.

Hello, I opened up my Epson V30 scanner to clean some dust specs on the mirrors from the scanner head. All went fine until I realized the dust was actually on the sensor. So I removed the sensor board from the scanner to give it a good clean. After reassembling the whole thing it took me about 2 hours to properly align the sensor in order to get the scanner to work (it wouldn't pass initialization test due to the light falling next to the sensor). It all works fine now, images are also a little sharper but now I'm getting evenly spaced very thin lines across my scans. Is this an alignment problem of the sensor or have I ruined the scanner or there is still dust in the scanner head (unlikely I guess cause the lines are evenly spaced)?
In case this is just a misalignment problem does anyone know how to properly align a scanner sensor or is this a realign-test-repeat scenario?

Just bought my first rangefinder today, it's a 1971 Zorki 4 with a Jupiter8 50mm/f2 lens on it. Looks brand new, like someone shot 2 or 3 films and left in the closet. It was a bargain, I paid the equivalent of 15$ for it. Can't wait to put some film in it and give it a spin. Everything seems OK on it, though I can't get the timer to activate the shutter, shouldn't be a problem to fix though. For me it looks like the prettiest camera I have ever held. It amazes me how simple it can be, but guess that's what makes it challenging. Here is a picture of this beauty.

Hello, my name is Gabriel from Romania, 26 years old. I recently became the proud owner of a problem free (until now) K5, which by the way is my first dslr, my first camera was a Canon A430. The K5 was the normal choice for me as I mostly like to shoot industrial photography(especially steel mills) and those kind of places are loaded with dust, also lighting is a big issue so the K5's sensor proved the most adequate. I'm still developing my skills but the K5 got me reading a lot about the subject because I'm trying to make the most of this wonderful camera. Have to say I held my breath when I opened the box and turned it on for the first time, I was really afraid of the sensor stains. But here I am 4000 clicks later and no problem.
Also I'm interested in European medieval martial arts (that is hitting the other guy on the head with a 4 foot piece of steel :)) ), arms and armour, medieval reenactment and swordsmithing. I have also founded a medieval reenactment organization in my home town which has the most beautiful medieval castle in Romania. When I'm not dressed in 500 year old clothing I work as a powertrain electronics engineer for a German automotive components supplier.

Also recently I became very interested in digitally restoring old photos as the whole photographic archive of the steel plant from my home town came into my possession. Thats at least 5000+ pictures waiting to be properly restored, so I got my work cut out from me, I will be asking for advice on some of the photos:)
The archive spans 110 years from 1884 to 1994. Most of them are 35mm films and 120 medium format films but also around 100 glass plate negatives and tons of paper photos.

As far as my photographic equipment goes I now use the mentioned K5 with 18-55mm kit lens, 50mm f2 Pentax M lens, 28mm f2.8 Sigma M42 and an Exacta 70-210mm M42 zoom lens, thanks goes to my girlfriends dad for lending those three manual lenses to me indefinitely :) . For the future I'm planning on some FA*s and a medium format film camera with a tilt-shift lens, as soon as my budget allows this kind of investment :)), anywhere between 2 years and the second coming of Jesus.
You can check out some of my early pictures here

Cheers!
