Great shots DWB... What lens are you using?

Agreed... As I stated.. It wasn't what the dealer told me that strayed me from the blue.. (although I sort of agreed) For me it was the glossy finish and the tactile feel. You could throw a pink one in the mud to visually translate the same message.

Black with 18-135... Love it so far.. (exception being the inability to take bracketed shots using the IR remote!) Come on Pentax! What were you thinking!?

I've handled both. I originally went to the dealer with the idea that I was leaving with the blue. When I held it the gloss finish turned me off. I could only imagine being somewhere humid and my hands just slipping and sliding all over the body (I know that sounded dirty). Which leads me to my 2nd point. Finger prints.. all over the dang thing.. grime, grit, etc.
The dealer made a great point to me as well. He said Pentax prides the K-30 on the rugged, go anywhere, do anything camera. The blue sorta takes away from the image. Another thing worth noting is it will stand out. That can be a positive or a negative. With your friends/family the "coolness" factor will be rewarding. If you're out of the country or in a not so savory place with your shiny blue camera and there's someone next to you with the ol' plain Jane black? Guess whose camera they'll be interested in more? I could care less about the latter just something to think about... The gloss and finish are what turned me off.. The black is sexy, and screams "LETS DO THIS!"..

I'm not sure what the return policy is at the dealer I purchased the K-30 from. My intention all year was to get the K-5, but when the K30 came out I was pretty impressed with it's feature set. (Some of which out performs the K-5). So to leave out something as simple as remote bracketing is a disappointment to say the least.

Yep.. That's what I thinking too. My friend showed me the exact screen on his K-5. I did not have that option. Also his K-20 will do it. This really p*sses me off that they did not include that. Maybe a firmware update? Other than this naggin issue I love the K-30.

I'm not sure what the issue may be. Have you checked to make sure your firmware is up to date? I doubt it's a firmware update, but at least worth a try.

Does anyone have any experience with bracketing using the IR remote on the K-30 yet? I know the K-5 does offer this option. I really thought the K-30 would too, but I can't seem to figure it out. After reading other posts concerning this subject I see that the K-X could only do one shot using the IR remote or a 3 second delay. I'm hoping there is a work around on the K-30. Why would they put it in the 2 year old K-5, but NOT the K-30?!
Thanks in advance for any replies.

I love trawling ebay for gems.. I always check the lens database on this site first and read user reviews. I back that up by going to Flikr to check out any pics uploaded with that specific lens.
I picked up a Asahi Pentax M SMC 75-150 for $49.00 last Friday. Free of fungas, oil, etc. Looks brand new. This lens has received just over a 9 for excellent in the reviews section. Heading to NYC next Wednesday with it. #stoked..

Every time I use the emboss feature it turns everything gray and I can't bring back the color.. I see that it wants the emboss but why in just gray?

I processed this in PS CS5 and I can't for the life of me recreate it with other pics.. I'm going to admit I had a few drinks and I love the way this came out but I've tried for 2 hours to recreate the effect with no success.. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance..

Pic taken about a week ago at the Divi All Inclusive in Aruba. I've been shooting with the KX for about a year and a half.
