Thanks very much to everyone for your replies - I have been away for a couple of days so only had time to catch up on these now. I will mull these over.

Hi all
I'd really appreciate some advice from more experienced users about what sort of flash gun I could use with my Pentax K-30 to take sport photography in relatively low light. Specifically, I have been trying to photograph local cyclo-cross races which take place in daylight but often under cover of trees etc and on gloomy days. I got a couple of acceptable shots the last time I tried it but generally I struggled to get the shutter speed high enough and the ISO low enough.
I have a Sigma TTL flash gun currently but am not particularly experienced with it and it takes a very long time to recharge between flashes which isn't terribly helpful when I am trying to take successive shots quickly. Is there anything out there that you'd recommend that is a faster to recharge, is suitable for the sort of application I am describing and isn't too expensive?
Any suggestions gratefully received!

Hi everyone
Recently acquired a Pentax K-30 - my first DSLR and have been trying to change lenses as carefully as possible to avoid dust but last night I tried to change one outside for the first time and as soon as I had done so, I noticed that there were marks appearing in images on the top left. I checked and cleaned the lens but it was fine, so then swapped back to see if the lens was at fault but the mark was appearing with the other lens too. Ran the dust cleaning function a few times which has improved it a bit but there are still a couple of irritating little marks that appear in some images (seems to depend what I shoot as to how noticeable it is). I guess I am probably going to have to get the sensor cleaned. I know that some people do it themselves but there is no way I want to attempt this, even if I had the right kit. I just wouldn't trust myself to do it right. Could anyone tell me how you go about getting a sensor professionally cleaned in the London area, and how much it costs?
Thanks!

Thanks - not something I will repeat! Think mine is fine fortunately - it was snowing a lot but I don't really think any of it really would have penetrated. Should have bought a WR lens right at the start of course!

This is a really nice image - I am struggling to reproduce anything like as sharp as this with my K-30. Not the fault of the camera, obviously, but the user!

Wow - sorry to hear you have had this problem. I took my K-30 out in the snow for over an hour today and it got pretty wet but (touch wood) I haven't experienced any of these problems. The K-30 is billed as having these seals and being useable in the rain, so it would concern me if they refused to honour the warranty as a result of use in the rain. As ecureuill says, this is a selling point of the K-30. How can they not honour it if you have a bad seal?
EDIT: Actually, I have a question on this too. What happens if you use the K-30 and the seals seem to be ok but then you use a standard lens (ie not WR)? Do you only put the lens at risk, or are you putting the camera body at risk too?

Thanks! Yes, I don't have photoshop so I like to try and do everything in-camera.

Sunrise on a cold morning in Caterham, Surrey, UK early Dec 2012. This was the second outing for me and my new K-30 having previously used an old Pentax Super-A.

Thanks Southlander - took your advice on the ND filter and went out the next day to have another crack. Unfortunately the sky didn't want to play ball. I know what you mean about contrails but they are completely impossible to avoid round here because of proximity to both Heathrow and Gatwick airports. Light pollution also a big problem. Anyway, sat down to watch a Silkypix tutorial and tried to lighten foreground, and generally had a bit of a play: Frost at sunrise by neil_gerrard, on Flickr

Hi nosliwmit - you are right, actually taken in Surrey near Caterham so between LHR and LGW! Was a very frosty morning. Now raining but hope to go out and have another go if we get some frost over Christmas. Did indeed shoot in RAW so will play around.

Just to point out first of all that exposure time was 1/100 sec, not 1/90 sec, but the option was not there.
I have just got a K-30 having spent a long time using an aging Pentax Super-A (film SLR). I am a bit lost in the digital world but took this using the SCN setting, set for landscape. Any tips on better composition, plus how to get the foreground lighter much appreciated. I haven't edited the shot in anyway - have Pentax Silkypix software but don't really know what to do with it!
