I know! My problem is a lack of use. I've never conquered MF (reinforced by kids constantly on the go) and man, getting focus at f/1.2 is lesson in patience.

You of course are correct on the filter size; corrected in OP. Thank you!

Since acquiring my K1, I've been doing a bit of equipment shuffling, and alas, it's time to part with some very good equipment. I accept payment via Paypal. All prices in USD and include shipping via USPS and Paypal fees.

Returns will be accepted at buyers expense for 3 days following confirmed delivery.

DA 1.4x TC - $350
Like new. Makes a great partner with the DA*300. Includes box, paperwork, and leather pouch.
Link to Flickr album

SMC DA 15/4 Limited - $310 - SOLD
Good condition. Glass and aperture blades are perfect. The barrel does show signs of wear and scuffing. Includes original screw-on lens cap and leather pouch.

DFA 100/2.8 Macro - $210 - SOLD
Excellent condition. Non-WR version. Clean all around...makes beautiful macros! Includes original hood, box, lens cap, and Pentax velcro pouch.

SMC A 50/1.2 - $425 - SOLD
Very good condition. Glass is clean, and aperture blade are dust/oil free. It does have some very minor internal dust that doesn't affect image quality. Includes a 52mm skylight filter (lens came with it when I purchased it), lens cap, and a Pentax clip-on hood. A classic!

K3ii - $615 - SOLD
Excellent condition. 7998 shutter actuations. Includes original box, paperwork, battery and charger. Also includes tempered glass screen protectors on rear and top screens. There is a small scratch in the tempered glass screen protector noticable in the upper left hand corner of the rear screen.

DA*300/4 - $715 - SOLD
Excellent condition. Glass is clean, aperture blades dust/oil free. Includes original lens cap, hood, and velcro pouch.

Thanks for looking!

Ugh I broke it

I too knocked my tripod over with the K1 attached. It smacked a submerged rock. I found water inside the battery and SD compartments. Waited a couple days to let it dry out before firing it back up...and the shutter is going bonkers. Also the back screen no longer functions. The camera was insured, so that's the one semi-silver lining to the story.Attachment 321511

Help with tripod selection - Feisol CT3442 vs 3441T

I have the 3441T and have used it with a K5 and K3II coupled with lenses up to 300mm + 1.4x TC. I love it. Unfortunately I can't attest to the differences in base diameters and what that entails as far as stability is concerned. My best guess is that the size and quality of your ball head would have more bearing on your setups stability than that of the base diameter, but I could be wrong. Maybe someone with more knowledge than I will chime in.

I like the center column (I'm 6'4) but don't use it all that often. I also like that the tripod fits in a carry on bag when fully collapsed.

I take mine with me pretty much everywhere...backpacking, hiking, flying, and just bumming around town.

In short, I do not regret my purchase at all.

Also, if you're looking for a deal, I believe @bpv_UW has one for sale here on PF. It may be worth sending him a PM.

I went from the Nexus 5 to the Nexus 6p (same camera in the 5x and 6p) and I agree with you. If you're an Android person, you can't beat the Nexus experience.

K-3ii with DA*300... Is the 1.4TC worth $450?

I have the trio of which you speak.

Let me first say that I'm new-ish to both the DA*300 and the 1.4x TC, so it's likely that my technique is not the best for obtaining consistent, pristine results. That said, I've found the combination both satisfying and frustrating. When there is adequate light (and I can get the shutter speed high enough) I find the resulting images to be quite sharp. There is no degradation in AF speed or accuracy with the TC vs the DA*300 alone. The bokeh of the combo seems consistent with that of the DA*300 also. Most of my frustrations lie in obtaining consistent, sharp results...missed focus, too slow shutter speeds, and narrow dof haunt me with this combo. Again, I think it is something that technique can improve, but I'm not there yet (at least not 100% of the time.)

Here are some recent examples:

I also did part of the test you mentioned. Its not 100% scientific, but you get the idea. (I don't work for and am not plugging Aluma trailers...it was just a convenient target.)

Photo licensing question

Thanks for your replies everyone.

To clarify, the actual solicitation is from an art curator that the hospital is apparently using. The images they're interested in IMHO are nothing special.

I like the idea of ensuring credit is maintained on the photos. And the thought of providing the printed image for them (thereby ensuring it's single use) to frame is a great idea.

I can see I need to seek clarification on few points yet.

Again, thank you all for your insight. I'll let you all know what, if anything, transpires.

Photo licensing question

Sorry if this is not the correct subforum.

I'll start out by saying I'm very much an amateur photographer. Up until this year my hobby has yielded me $0. I enjoy landscape photography, but due to kids most of my time is spent taking pics of them and random-chance scenes I stumble upon.

For the first time, this year someone contacted me about some images they had seen on my Flickr feed. Not knowing much I uploaded the desired photos to 500px and they purchased the appropriate license from there (which in this case were physical prints), netting me 70% of the total sale. Worked great.

Today I was contacted by another person inquiring about more photos from my Flickr feed. This time the entity has access to a high quality printer and frame shop, and hence only wants the high-res files of each photo. These photos, I'm told, will be placed in a hospital for decorative purposes only, and therefore they are looking for a single use license. From my limited knowledge of/about the licenses offered on 500px, I don't think they are a good fit for what this customer is asking.

I'm curious how to best go about this. I do want to retain the overall rights to the photos. I also don't have a very good gauge of how to price these images. Can anyone offer some guidance?
