Apart from the size, shape and handling, mirrorless cameras meter off the sensor.
They act like they have a aperture coupler.
No green button to push.

Try a Fuji X-E1 or X-E2.
With an adapter and a Pentax lens it is closer to a Pentax film camera than any camera I have ever used.
Sure it would be nice it it said "Pentax" on the front, but that will never happen.

A nikon body would not be my choice for adapting lenses.
Mirrorless cameras are far better choices. Because of their low registration distances, they work with almost all lenses. They also meter off the sensor, so lenses act like they have a coupled aperture.
As for your Nikon, have a look at the 50mm f1.8 AF-S. Nice lens, good for portraits, will meter and autofocus with your camera.

Just want to point out, that adapted lenses on the X-E1 have full metering. I far as I can tell the spot, matrix, and average metering all seem to work just fine.
The only functions missing are program mode, Shutter priority and autofocus.
I have the 27mm pancake on order. Really looking fwd to trying it out.

I've had my X-E1 body for about a month now. I'm using it as a camera back for my collection of Pentax-M and M42 lenses. Previously I was using an NEX-5n, but I wanted a viewfinder and better controls.
The fuji is like using an MX or LX film camera. Similar size, similar user feel with the shutter dial on the top right of the camera body. The adapted lenses act like aperture coupled lenses with regard to the light meter. This alone i feel is an improvement over using a modern Pentax DSLR.
If you are the type of shooter that wishes Pentax would make a DK1000 then I would recommend trying the X-E1 for use with your old lenses. If you can't understand why anyone would want a DK1000, then maybe go buy a D800 and leave us to enjoy our adapted lenses.
I'd be more then happy to answer questions about the X-E1 used with old lenses.

To think...
Sony almost had more lenses than camera bodies for just a little bit of time there.
back to typical Sony. Three FE lenses, three FE bodies.

Nikon images when processed from RAW in ACR or lightroom will look flat and grey unless you adjust them with a camera profile.
This has resulted in the myth that there is something "wrong" with Nikon colours.

If you only have 200-250 to spend on a Nikon body, then the n D200 is a fine camera.
It has beter Auto focus, better metering, and better on camera flash than a K10D. I have owned both.
When using any Nikon with Lightroom, you get better skin tones and colours if you use a camera preset when you import the files. Otherwise the colours will look flat.
Above ISO 800 the K10D has better noise control.

Find the lens you want, then get the camera to match.
As for camera menus I've use Sony, Nikon and Pentax. Once you get used to where things are, they are all equally good.
But, I would never say the NEX menu is "great"...

For what it is worth...
I used to use a K10D with my collection of Pentax-M lenses. Frankly that arrangement left a lot to be desired.
Now I use an NEX-5n with my Pentax-M's. For myself, the NEX feels more like my MX or LX then the K10D ever did. Even without a viewfinder.
I am really looking forward to what Sony has in store next month. I'm expecting my next camera purchase to be either an NEX-6 or the NEX-7 replacement.
I completely understand how a FF NEX would be the digital LX that some of us are waiting for.

k100D - sold it to buy K10D
K10D - sold it to buy NEX-5N
EOS1N - Really nice camera. but the Nikon F100 was so much better.
F100 - wow! what a camera.
D200 - bought it because I liked the F100 so much
D300 - bought it because I liked the D200
NEX-5N - bought it to replace the K10D. it does a better job with my old Pentax lenses, than the K10D
I plan to upgrade the NEX-5n to an NEX-6 because I want a viewfinder
Eventually the D300 will be upgraded to a D700 or a D600 to get a FF body.

Then they should hurry up, and get some serious lens ready for sale.
There was a point not too long ago, where sony had released as many NEX cameras as they had released e-mount lenses.

I bought a NEX-5N about 8 months ago.
I use it primarily with k mount manual primes.
very happy with the camera. I like it better then the K10D I sold to buy it.
I expect my next camera will be an NEX-6.
I never thought I would have bought a Sony.

Do you guys remember back in the K10D days, when most of the "polly" vs "alloy" talk was for the polly body of the K10D, and pentaxians felt that the alloy bodies of the D300 and 40D were overkill?
Also note that the back of the K-5 is polly.

The coverage for the k-5 is always 100%
But it gets a "boost" to its magnification number because of the crop factor.
Camera viewfinder magnification is determined with a 50mm lens on the camera.
But with a 35mm lens, to get equivalent field of view the magnification drops to .7x (more or less).
So you can't really compare FF viewfinder magnification directly to aps-c viewfinder magnification.

How about some kind of full 360° view camera?
Screw FF, 360 is where it is at.

I don't think Pentax and Samsung are on good terms.
I doubt we will ever see another Samsung camera with a K mount.
I also doubt we will ever see another Samsung sensor in a Pentax.
