LOL. Talk about the mind playing tricks on you. It looks so obvious now, but I did not see that before.
I guess I'm used to seeing him with hands in pockets all the time.
Thanks guys.

I'm not sure what happened with the photo below. Maybe buffer/memory problem when saving the photo? Only took 1 at a time though.
If you look at my nephew's arms (2nd on left) his skin was replaced by the drape material in the background. This happened last new years eve. Only time it ever happened. Never happened since. All other photos from K5 have been great. Just a glitch.
It's just a 1 time thing I believe, just curious if anyone else ever experienced something similar. I sent something to Pentax to report it, but never heard back.

Originally I just had focused the camera myself first before trying the remote release.
I just played around a bit and it depends on how your camera is set up, not just custom menu item 18 set to AF. Mine was set to AF, but camera was not doing the AF just like Brazeal mentioned.
However, it also depends on your Custom menu 15 and 16 settings. Depending on which AF setting your on (AFS or AFC) then the respective custom menu setting 15/16 needs to be set at Focus priority.
When I changed to Focus priority the camera did AF before taking the picture.

When I got my K5 on boxing day a couple years ago, there was another customer buying one at the exact time and we paid at the register around the same time. That's the last Pentax owner Ive seen.

HI,
If anyone out there has a Samsung phone or Tablet (Sony tablets too) with the IR. Just to let you know I found a free app "DSLR Remote" that wirelessly triggers my K5.
The default setup for the App was Pentax. (Don't think they could get this info from my tablet). Anyway other camera makes are also available.
Just had to set up K5 for remote use and it fired right away. Very easy to set up. I have a 10" tablet so might not be best thing to use all the time, but those with a Note or Note II phone will always have remote with them.

I'd already seen the body at 1199 prior to this announcement as a $200.00 off promotion at Aden camera. It's still listed that way on their site. If the price doesn't go below that after this announcement I'll be disappointed as there will be no change in the price I was going to buy at.
