I picked up this camera, with a Skoparex 3,4/35 lens at a thrift store on Sunday. With the exception of a sticky mirror, (it seems to get better as I use the camera), will the lens work on my K10? I'm sure I would need an adapter of sorts. The lens is near mint. The body is in wonderful shape, but the previous owner scribed his name and some sort of code, (not a ss #) on the bottom and back of the camera. Also it was in a hard case with the verbage Zeiss Ikon Voigtlander. Do I have a gem or a shelf piece?

I know Pentax manufactured and rebadged their glass for others, but for whom? Is their a database or link out in cyberspace for reference? |

Are the 3rd party reversing rings ok? I took the advise of the forum and bought an Original M42 to K mount adapter, but since the object of reversing will be for macro, would their be any issues, mount removal, etc?

Sometimes we can win. I "needed" a Genuine M42 adapter, found one and was outbid by fifty cents, 1 day later, found another, listed under buy it now for less than the one that I was out bid on. 2 weeks ago, I was in a local thrift shop, spotted an old Spotmatic with a Super Takumar 50mm 1.4 lens. I somewhat memorized the lens info. Yesterday, I researched the lens on this forums database, went back, the camera was still there, paid $9.50. The lens IS the early 8 element, and in pretty good shape, just waiting for the adapter to try it.

Interesting. It appears the time of day between shots are not the same, (streetlights on).

I like the setup. The thing I see that is distracting is the end grain on the dowl pin used to prop up the pin.

Maybe just a little to tight on the cropping, but an awesome image.

I noticed a weird clicking sound while focusing this lens on my K10d. At first, I thought it was my camera body. I removed the lens, went through the focusing motions, (one extreme to another) and realized something inside the lens was catching on the aperture blades, causing the clicking sound. Anyone out there have a similar situation with this, or any other lens, and did you find out what was causing the clicking, and did you fix the problem?

I'm pretty sure it works. My question is why doesn't it fully work on closeup work? The manual recommends turning it off, and using a tripod.

A very good copy of the Takumar 4/100 M42 Bellows Lens. Lens is in excellent condition. Comes with original hard case/strap and silica pack. The metal lens hood has a small scratch, and a smudge. The gear, as mentioned above is critical. Although I have never shot a wedding, I always have carried various lenses, always extra batteries, 2 flash units, tripod/monopod, sd cards, note pad, pen/pencils to where Im going. I'd look for a book for tips on posing. Set up an outline/schedule during the formal shooting at the church, after the church, (prior to the reception). +1 on having someone to assist with your gear. Take control of the shoot, try not to let the newlyweds dictate to you.
