I'm probably a Johnny come lately but I've been reading threads from 2011 about Pentax 2yr extended warranties for the k7 being free from Pentax. Is that the same today with the k5 beause I just ordered one for $19.95 from a dealer.

Hi Ubuntu_user

Thanks for the input.

I guess I am missing something but I don't see how it would cost them anymore by having a different person own the lens when it needed service.

Item for Sale
Tamron SP 70-200mm f/2.8 Di LD (IF) Macro

Asking Price
$599.00 USD

Item Location

Item Description
I bought this lens at B&H in September of 2011. It is in like new condition. There are no scratches and no fungus on the glass. The focus and zoom are smooth. I love the lens it has better IQ than the Sigma. The only reason for selling it is I am going to be shooting my grand kids baseball games and I thought I needed a faster auto focus so I am going with the Sigma 70-200. Of course the Sigma costs a bit more. It comes with everything that B&H sent. Original box, lens hood, lens pouch, front and rear lens caps, and all the paper work. I have no feedback score at Pentax Forums. My feedback score at Ebay under biglug1950 is 100%.

Tamron 70-200 2.8 not as bad some say

Just received my Tamron 70-200 f-2.8 and the things I kept hearing about, the slow focus and the noise didn't materialize unless it is louder on cameras other then the Pentax. I got it because of the IQ. I see and hear nothing wrong with this lens. I love it. I think some of the reviews might be a little exaggerated. But that's just my opinion. I'm not selling my photos. But people selling their photos would have more expensive lenses anyway.

Yes that's it. I didn't get the focus switch on the camera all the way down to manual. It works great now.

Just received a Tamron 70-200 2.8 from B&H and like the lens a lot. But I have a question about manual focus. The focus has a strong drag. You can hear gears turning. I was wondering if that was normal for this lens? All lenses I have ever used turned easy and moved smoothly in manual focus.
