CNN Calls it For Obama....

It doesn't matter who wins the election. What matters is what's going to happen in the coming years. Personally, I'm hoping for the USA to collapse. Why? Because that's the only chance The South(or Texas)has to become free from the USA and become an independent nation. It's not just The South or Texas-there are secessionist movements for other states-VT, AK, CA...I hope they all can be free someday.

Nice shots Phil. I'm waiting on a roll of HP5 I shot at the car show with the ME Super-I sent it to DR5 about 10 days ago.

Thanks Tim60.

About the tripod, I put the F2 on it just to take the photos and it was over carpet. That tripod is normally used to support flashes. I was using the Manfrotto on the camera that took the pics.

I've been wanting to get one of these for awhile. But was worried about whether any repair technician had a supply of parts and knew how to work on the F2. I found out about Sover Wong in the UK-he's the F2 master. That's all he works on, and has a good supply of parts. So there was no hesitation to buy this one in EX condition from KEH. I also got the non AI 105 f/2.5 lens-KEH only had it in Bargain condition. Tomorrow I go to the park and put a roll of film through it.

Today I went to Houston Camera Exchange and bought a classic styled strap and 2 rolls of HP5.

There's a meter on top of the prism. Inside the viewfinder is a meter just like this one as well as shutter and f/stop info.

Something else I'd like to mention is I've been sending my B&W to DR5 in Colorado for transparency process. It's kinda expensive, but black and white slides are awesome, especially in med format. Ilford HP5 is the most popular film for that and that's what I use.

I read the manual for your camera. It looks like there's no exposure compensation, but you could use manual mode and set the exposure where the meter shows -2. Here's a link to the manual.

As Croto does, I also use The Darkroom in California. For 10 usd you get processing and low res scans on CD. For $5 more, you get prints. And for another $5 you get higher res scans. The scans are not that great, but with some post processing you can make them look pretty good. One thing I like is they email your files to you, lo res of course, soon after they're processed. So you get to see your stuff before it gets back to you in the mail.

Is there such a book for Pentax? I have the Nikon Systems Handbook and it covers just about everything Nikon has made from 1959 to the time the book was printed. It would be so nice to learn all the products Pentax has offered throughout the years.

The one from Ebay fits good, after a little trimming. It's huge-like a Hoodman at 1/3 the price. I may get another.

First off, the lens must be able to have the aperture controlled even when it's not mounted on the camera-there will be no linkage from camera to aperture. I know Pentax K and Nikons do that. Not sure about Canons and others. Some M42 screwmount lenses have the auto/manual aperture selector. They will work in manual. The screwmounts that do not have the auto/manual will be at wide open aperture only. And that reminds me-the lens must have an aperture ring to control the aperture, so that rules out Canon EOS and Nikon G, and any other lenses without the ring.

Yes the Nikon I used was designed for 35mm format, which is smaller than 645. But the farther you move the lens away from the film, the larger of an image it produces. This setup puts the lens much farther away from the 645 film than it would be on a NIkon. But the image still wasn't quite large enough, so I put a 12mm extension tube between the camera and lens.

So to answer your question-35mm format lenses that have allow the aperture to be controlled by the aperture ring should be able to be adapted to the 645. You may need extension tubes to get a large enough image. And keep in mind, this is for macro only. A 35mm lens used on the 645 this way will not even come close to infinity. I did it because my 645 lenses do not focus close and cannot be used for macro work.

JB Weld. Just in case the glue didn't hold, I drilled 2 holes and put little screws and nuts to hold everything together. In the photo you can see one of the screw heads.

Here are pics of the adapter.

I did this shot of one of my Russian watches to finish a roll. I used the Nikon 75-150 Series E lens with a homemade 645-Nikon adapter made out of a 645 body cap and Nikon rear lens cap. Last time I tried it, there was some vignetting. So this time I used a 12mm ext tube and it took care of just about all of the vignetting. The film is Ilford HP5 sent to DR5 for transperancy process. I copied it with my DSLR.

The slack is between the body and adapter. Maybe I should look for another adapter.

There's a little bit of slack between the body and PK-M42 adapter. And it takes forever to put the adapter on-using M42 lenses with a K body is no picnic. I want to get a 70-210 for the camera.
