Is there any way to fix it if the light meter is dead? And yes haha, I'm sure I put the batteries in correctly. Two batteries in, positive side first.

I can press buttons down in the 'M' mode, but it doesn't indicate what shutter speed I'm shooting at. But I can definitely change the shutter speed. And yes, both Auto and M seem to not light up anything. And I have looked at the manual and I know that B and 125x don't light up anything. Could the light meter be broken?

Sorry to sound desperate in the title of this post, but I kind of am ahaha. I just recently picked up a pentax me super from a thrift store and everything seems to be working (the shutter, the film advance, etc.) the lens is in good shape as well and everything looks pretty clean. however, the only thing that isn't working is the light meter! i've changed the batteries twice. I've cleaned the contacts a bunch and I made sure that I was putting the batteries in the correct way. But from all of these efforts, the light meter still fails me. I don't see any dots lighting up on the sides and I die a little every time I think I've fixed it and then realize that I haven't made any progress. Please help! I really want to fix the light meter. If it takes opening the camera up, I'll do it. Thanks so much for your help! :)
