The reference was to the Ricoh motto "currently working on it" sounds like a Ricoh rep does it not? The standard answers are....

I can imagine this lens will be Pentax ready before the next Ricoh/Pentax announcement cause these people are producing a product and Ricoh/Pentax is "watching the market"

It seems REH did raise a sensible daughter.
This is a true story.....honestly. I answered a (COUGH) craigslist (COUGH) add.... it was back in the K7 era and I didn't know any better :) He was looking for photographers to cover an event, something like a bikini party or who knows, I sent him a link to my portfolio like the add had requested, I had some concert, wedding and some family portraits in there, He emails me back stating the portfolio was fine and asked for my gear list, I told him the camera, lenses and flash I shoot with (all Pentax) I get an email back the following day stating my services will not be needed because they require "name" brand cameras ?????? and his editors do not understand the Pentax system???
The level of ignorance he displayed did not even deserve a response

I just turned 51 and the old eye sight is getting a little fuzzy, I do shoot some animals for some of the local rescues but my main focus is motocross, I can't race anymore due to a kidney transplant so I took up photographing it instead...… Ok, I'm going to the dark side for just a minute, I met a guy at a local race a few weeks ago and I was able to shoot his gripped D500 with the Nikon 70-200 2.8 for a couple of hours, once I got the hang of it I felt like I was cheating, that thing is a beast, I believe it could literally track a fly in flight, It would be the only camera that at this point would be able to draw me away from Pentax, I started with a K10 back in 08 so I've been here a while, I have chosen to never make this statement before because all I would get is a "Bye" "see ya if you think Nikon is better" "don't let the door hit ya" ect ect.
The D500 set up I was shooting with is a tad over 5 grand, I'm going to wait and see if Pentax can improve AF and by how much, I may eventually go to the dark side but I prefer to stay were I'm at.

Can't no one tell me I'm not dedicated to the brand, I have even made my own sweat towels :) (it's hot in Texas). I do get some noses turned up to me by the Canon/Nikon shooters but I could care less what most of them think, I'm proud to shoot a Pentax. I haven't made any shirts just yet.... maybe I should buy a PF forum shirt :)

I agree, I'm not expecting a D500 killer from Pentax, I shoot all types of sports with a well beaten K3 and my keeper rate is pretty decent but an upgrade to better AF will always be welcomed. I only hope when they do release a new crop body that they don't stray too far from the K3 design, for me the K3 with the grip fits like a glove.

I don't post much either and do agree we should purchase Pentax products, since 2007, I currently have a K10D, K7, K5 and still using my K3, I'm low on the lenses cause I only have the 16-50, 17-70, 50-135, 18-250, 60-250, FA 50 and the kit lens all bought new from B&H or Adorama. I also have a Sigma 70-200 and the 50-500 but thanks to Pentax remaining at the top of innovation spectrum Sigma will not produce lenses in K mount anymore.
I have bought Pentax products and all I wanted was an updated K series crop body or a least a notion that one was in the pipeline, what they showed at Photokina was not even close. I believe I have spent money with Pentax (a small amount by some standards) and I can have an opinion to be disappointed.

You sir have no idea how pleasing it is to read a post from someone with a fully functioning brain, the "CORE" users here on ole PF don't take much likin to the honest truth:D
If pentax plans on staying in the last decade and unable to complete a "toy" camera within a 3 year span, they could at least be honest and tell us to get lost. I shoot mainly motocross, I am literally in the dirt 90% of the time with my camera, this expensive hockey puck they showed at Photokina is quite depressing.

I have the Sigma 70-200 and the 50-500, love them both... have not tried the 60-250 but I do have the 50-135. Color rendition is better with the Pentax glass but it cant compete in the speed department.

This is not SPAM as I don't sell photos... Everything on my site www.alcstudios.com was shot with a horrible worthless piece of junk K7, maybe I should upgrade to an Iphone<<<< Sarcasm :)
