I am also eagerly waiting for this adapter. It will be interesting to know the price and release date.
Planning to combine it with my Tamron 70-300 + Rayox150 and my A6500 for macro shots.

As a wedding photographer I use smugmug for my reference when asked about my pictures. I pay 80$ per year. If I even shoot one wedding per year, I would have covered the cost of that.
Even though sometimes it feels limited with what I want to do, You still can do a lot with their services.
You can attach a domain name. I am not sure you can do that with Flickr. You can check my website to see what I am talking about. abeka bonney | photography

Thanks for this comment. After several tries and two different monitors there is seem to be a truth to this.

Yes I see the color temp setting in display cal. I can choose the temp i want which I have set to 6500K.
I feel like the problem is coming from the adjustment options on the HP. I dont know if the signal input is also a factor.
I think I am using DVI.

I have two screens.
One is a 27" Samsung TV/Monitor and the other an HP LP2475w. The HP is supposed to be a top notch screen. At least better than the Samsung.
I run linux so I use DisplayCal with a Spyder4 setup.
I have calibrated the Samsung. And even though I am not sure the settings are the best I am quite satisfied with the way things look when I have done a print.
But then I try to calibrate the HP, it doesnt at all look right.
The brightness and the color temp are both of when I compare pictures with the Samsung.
It seems to be brighter and cooler.
Is this because they are just different screen technology?
Anybody with dual screen calibration experience?

Thanks guys. But as I mentioned the point and shoot part is not a problem. Well because I am behind the camera.
I want to be part of the pictures when we travel. Decades from now, my kids can remember that I was part of the trip. Not the photographer who followed them around.
A zoom obviously will be ideal. But I am trying to go a little compact, taking into consideration that I am not going for a photography trip. But yes I tripod will be taken.
As for the staged version. Its just a preference for the walls.

I want to start documenting moments that family spend together on trips.
Of course some are just point and shoot.
But I want to do those staged ones for the walls without being left out.
I will like to do this with less of a hassle as possible.
What lens do you normally go with?
How do you compose your shoot on the go?
Admitted a phone on a selfie sick will be the easy option.
But the front facing camera is terrible.
Any ideas?

When I watch or read reviews I focus more about the negatives. The positives are the ones that everyone talks about in the beginning. So that is always out there.
The negatives come later. So if I can work with the negative, or does not apply to the way I shoot then I go ahead and make a purchase if needed.

Hi. I think your site is fine. From my side some pictures are blurry (I have been known to have browser issues). You dont want to cause doubt to prospective clients.
Those pictures are few so remove them. Show only your best work.
You might not have many pictures to display if you are just starting. But it is best to show your best.

They all seem to be 2.8 glasses.
I wonder why tamron went that route. it doesnt make any sense unless it is going to be cheap.

@ Dan Rantea. I humbly beg you not to reply to the thread anymore. Its obvious some people just like to fight.
Really?? Its hard for Dan Rantea to comprehend DOF? What an insult? Really??
Yes I know that there freedom of speech but there is common decency too.
I ask @BigMack to close all threads that has comparisons between DSLR and MILC's in the future. The topic has been discussed enough.

This post was made just before I went to sleep.
Well I will say that I am smiling going through the posts.
I guess it makes sense what @AstroDave and @stevebrot have mentioned.
Shhh.... about the popcorn franchise. I do not have one. But I did bring a sachet to work hoping for a longer fight to enjoy this.
I will take my popcorn to the other linked post by @Dartmoor Dave.
Thanks guys.

How is the light converged on the sensor?
For example is some of the light coming through an FF lens lost when it falls on a crop sensor?
And vice versa, is an FF sensor not seeing/receiving enough light to fill the sensor area when a cropped lens is mounted? I am guessing this is the reason for vignetting strong or weak depending on the lens.
How does this affect real aperture then?
Because a cropped sensor is seeing all the light that it needs if an FF f1.7 lens is mounted or APS-C 1.7 lens is mounted given an f-stop. The reverse I am not sure of.

So I bought the samyang 35 f1.4. I have been comparing the two lens, Sigma and Samyang.
The samyang is better and cheapter than the sigma, but I was still leaning towards the sigma.
The samyang price got reduced again by 9%. And I just ordered it.
Probably the price came down for fear of what tamron might release. Either way I think I am satisfied based on reviews.
Havent received the lens though. I asked them to update the firmware before send it to me.

I am a mirrorless user. But at this moment I am thinking of getting a smartphone with a good image quality. My Iphone 6s front facing camera is not cutting it. I hate taking pictures with my camera. And I hate carrying my camera with me. Especially when I cant see how to frame my family in the shot for a self. I realized that I am loosing documenting our time together, (20 years from now my kids will appreciated those pictures more).
I take my camera for planned family photo shoot.
So if you think I should buy a new camera just to satisfy this need of sales statistics about mirrorless, then I will hope that you will come with us everywhere we go as our selfie man ;)
I will also return the selfie stick that I bought in the spring (Just so you know I never thought I had ever own one of those sticks. NEVER).

It really took me a long time to find presets that work for me.
Unlike others, I am not good at all at how to move sliders. I dont know what the opposite color of yellow is.
So it was very difficult for me and it still is. For others this is simple. They know exactly the look they want and how to achieve it.
Most of the time for me I dont know the look that I want. I just happen to stumble on them while working.
Keep in mind that others will tell you how easy it is, but when you look at their work that is not the look you want or prefer. It works for them, that is ok.
I got frustrated at some point because I felt like I was failing. I had tons of pictures on my computer but didnt know what to do with them. I took online classes on post processing. It helped me to to some extent.
I downloaded free presets from website that I might like. I apply them but they dont look as advertised. Not because they are bad, but mainly because the tone of the picture it was applied to was probably different than mine. Hence my earlier comment. This is what have come to learn.
As time went on I stumbled on presets that could get me started. But I really did search. Hard.
Even now after shooting a wedding, post processing is the part that gives more stress than anything else.
But just last week somebody was saying that when they look at my work I have a specific look.
I am not really sure about that, But I take the compliment, and always looking for way to make that "look" better, easier and faster.
Another colleague was gushing of over my work and saw my website.
So dont give up or frustrated. Dont overly compare your work to others. And dont let others make your feel that it is so easy. We are all different.

I saw the rumor yesterday. I hope one of the primes is a 35 1.4, or 1.8. I am looking at the Sigma 35 1.4 now. I will hold out until it is announced.

There is no preset to rule them all.
Presets depend so much on the tone curve of the picture. Pentax also having its own base curve.
Then also it will depend on the look you want to achieve.
Presets give you a start and you have to tweak to your liking.

I am sure the samyang AF version is in the making. So I will wait for that one. I hearing really good stuff about the samyang 85 f1.4. But I already have the Sony 85 f1.8 which is also a nice lens.
