Nice photo. I'm right there with you. Sadly Nikon is the only company making anything close with the DF. But at $2300+, ouch. I'm afraid most company's don't want to sell a simple camera. Which is sad, because the more I'm into photography the more I cherish the simplicity of it. I have rediscovered my own K100d and ist*DS along with some instant cameras, pinholes and my Holga. I have rediscovered a love I thought lost.

After a long while of wanting one. I finally got around to selling a bunch of unnecessary gear and was able to find a mint condition LX. Can't wait to put it through its paces! Attachment 347873 |

Thanks, I love all my cameras. But for some reason really like it. I guess because it is similar to my first camera my dad gave me. His old Yashica FX-2. That old cable release was his. Still going strong. Yeah, when I really want to slow down I pull out the old Graflexes. Haven't shot them in a while though. Sweet with the upsale, nice when that happens!

Hmm, this is a tough one. Among my MZ-S, Z-1, ZX-5, Spotties, and other film and digicams I find myself gravitating more and more to my K1000. It's simplicity, ruggedness and reliability all appeal to me. I've shot all kinds of cameras as have most of you guys, but there is something about this honest workhorse that always seems to make me want to pick it up over the others. I have an assortment of lenses, but my go to's are the 28mm F2, 50mm 1.7, Adaptall 90mm 2.5 macro.
Films:
Portra 160
Portra 400
Ilford B&W
Lomography 800
Superia 200 and 400, generally rated at 125 and 320 respectively.
Viva la film!

Sculptures by Jaume Plensa, landscape artist. Cheekwood Botanical Gardens Nashville, Tennessee.
Pentax K1000 with Pentax-M 50mm 1.7, Kentmere 400 developed in HC110. Scanned with Pakon 135+.
I was really pleased with this shot as it came out a lot more dynamically than I thought it would have. Attachment 305996 |
