is it worth it to try and sell an older Tamron 70-200mm lens

I have an older Tamron LD Di SP 70mm-200mm 2.8 (IF) lens in Pentax mount. Over the years when I was shooting Pentax it was my favorite lens and my primary money maker for doing livestock portraits.
I have since gifted everything else Pentax to my son as I know the resale value of it all, including my K5 was not worth trying to make a buck on it. he already had some Pentax gear. He lives in a rural area and I told him that if he loses interest to donate to a photography program if he could find one.
Okay, that said, I would like to know if there is still enough interest in the 70-200mm lens for me to try and sell it. And at what price point? The only flaw is a small chip in the front element. close to the edge, where a cow kicked up some gravel at me. It has never shown up in pictures.

Although I haven't moved up from my K5, yet, I also have the Tamron and don't find the focus noise to be too noisy. Neither do my chosen subjects.

Still practicing with my current gear. I 'think" I have some improvement over yesterday. Today was the Global Big Day and I was taking part in the bird count on a gated private island.

Pets Two People With One Heifer Equals Two Different Style Poses

Well what turned out to be an interesting fact was that the small acreage they live on had been part of the original family farm he had grown up on. The farm was sold to fund his parents retirement, except for the section where this couple live. The heifer is actually the great granddaughter of a cow that had been his 4h project. They were looking through a auction catalog, noticed her, and he traced her pedigree. She is a gold and white Holstein, not nearly as well known as the black and white ones, and that was what his family had raised.

On the other hand, she hadn't had first hand livestock experience until they married. This is the first cow she has ever had and considers her more of a pet, albeit one very special to her husband, rather than livestock.

I was asked to do a "portrait" of the family heifer by the wife in the family. When I got there her husband, who had grown up showing dairy cattle had a totally different idea of what type of pose the heifer should be in. She had want casual shots in front of the cornfield.

He wanted posed shots, show cow style, by the farm name. Unfortunately there was distracting hardscaping near the sign so I could not center it perfectly under the poor heifer. Although I could have PP'ed his arms out of the shot, he wanted them in as that was how most of the catalogs showed posed dairy cattle.

I sent them a total of 20 finished images. In some the "posing arms" were PP'ed out, in others they stayed. I preferred the more casual shots by the cornfield that had the background blurred but she liked the ones with the stalks in focus. Here are the two favorites, one of his and one of hers.

The black mare's portrait was taken on her 29'th birthday. The two fillies have the same sire plus the same Granddam on their Mother's side.

Nature Canada Goose on the Nest, K5 with 55-300/Tamron 1.4TC

After practicing at home I finally took my camera set up as CSA recommended with the 55-300mm lens and the Tamron 1.4TC out into the field, so to speak. It was an overcast day with spats of rain. The birds were not as cooperative as I had hoped but I am pleased with this goose on the nest for a first field attempt. I used the onboard flash and I think it helped. I will be looking into the flash extenders that had been recommended to me.

Looking for a Lens that may not exist, Light and Long

I did understand what you meant, aperture. :) I really feel that my question has been answered. I have the tools right now, 55-300 plus the 1.4 TC. I just didn't realize it. I feel kind of foolish for not thinking to use the two together. I also received some good advice if the time comes that I want to do more serious bird photography.
Again..thank you everyone.

Thank you. I am very impressed and you have given me something to shoot for, pun intended.
This was taken with my K5 and 55-300, handheld, no TC, cropped. I was much closer for this shot than I usually am.

I looked into them but I really need to stay inexpensive right now, as I said in the OP, working towards getting a K3ii.

I actual have one but find I need a monopod in order to keep it steady, maybe it is too light.

I have just been trying it out. The AF hunts some but I was able to MF pretty easily (in MF mode)

This is my primary photography focus.

Is the 20D still worth buying?

When I was shooting film my favorite camera had been the Pentaz PZ1. When I switched to digital I could not afford the K10D and bought an istDS. Well, I'm finally going to upgrade and am trying to reconcile what I want with what I can afford. What I can afford is a new K-r, or a used 20D or with a stretch, possibly a used K-7. What I want is a camera that feels and handles more like the old PZ1 rather than the istDS.
So my question is simple. Is the 20D even worth considering anymore?
