BTW, this was also for Windows 7 users ;) Link below just incase anyone needs some help with this.

The Microsoft Camera Codec Pack requires the following:

Hello,

I have not been around for a "very long time" due to ill health (heart and lungs.....not that this matters LOL), but slowly and finally getting back into things again.

I am looking for a little Photoshop (Version CS6) and RAW (.pef) help, if possible.

I cannot initially view my files as "images" as before with CS3 when viewing my .pef files and wondering if anyone knows why this is
My camera RAW plugin is version 7.1.0.354 if this helps.
Attached preview on how they are seen on my initial "Open Window". All is fine once they are opened, but I cannot see what I am opening to start with, when I could before.
I am wondering what "additional" plugins or Windows Updates I am needing installed to view these files, as I could before

BTW, my camera is the Pentax K20D if that helps

Many thanks indeed for any assistance.

Regards, Jay

I nominate this photo for the Pentax K-3 Photo Contest because of the golden tones and lead out through the sands ripples to the end of the bridge, taking you to every corner of the photo ;) Well done Pete

Just what I had thought too.
Only just having installed Camera RAW 7.1 from version 7.0, I would have thought that would have been fine, as I also rebooted my machine too.
I was wondering sometimes why I hate change LOL :O

Off to do some more research..........or staying with Photoshop CS3 ;)

Thank you Boriscleto,

Sorry, but I did not mention that I am still using the Pentax K200D. Is this in the wrong forum section?
I guess this would still apply to use the DNG converter then?

Thanks again, appreciated ;)

Hi,

I have just upgraded to Photoshop CS6 and I cannot view my .PEF files (as images) through the CS6 image browser.

I have upgraded to Camera RAW plugin 7.1, but still no joy.:(

I still have CS3 on my computer and can see my files just fine in there.

Any other possible suggestions to view my .PEF files as images in CS6 please would be appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

Regards, Jay

Hi Folks,

Been here a while now, but I have been so busy that I did not get chance to post my Hello until now. Better late than never, as they say ;)

I have been into photography for a fair few years now, but only just over the past 3 years or so have I begun to take it more serious, selling (or more to the point, trying to) prints, canvases etc online.

Camera gear that I have is:-
  • Pentax K200D

  • Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6 EX DC Lens (Ultra-Wide zoom lens)

  • Pentax SMC 18-55mm kit lens

  • Pentax SMC 35-80mm (Hardly used nowadays)

  • Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro Telephoto Zoom Lens (Recently upgraded from the non APO version)

  • Hähnel Triad 90PG Pistol Grip Tripod (Recently purchased and love it)

  • Various screw filters

  • Lowepro 200AW camera bag

If you want to know more, just holler. I ain't no expert, but will try my best ;)

Regards, Jay
