Everyone can interpret how they want,but the real macro photography is 1:1 or higher magnification...
1:1 is fairly simply, and best explained with a frame of film.
Let's say you set up a wonderful shot of a dime (a 10¢ piece) with a macro lens set to 1:1. You take the shot on a roll of film, have it developed, etc.
If you place that frame of film next to the dime, the image of the dime and the dime itself will be the same size.
What it means is that you're reproducing your subject on the imaging plane (film or sensor) at the same size that it exists in real life.
This is the same on digital, and is NOT affected by crop factor. What it means is that of your subject is, say, 12mmx12mm in size in real life, it will occupy a space of 12mmx12mm on your sensor.
If you're using a lens with "macro" capabilities (as some off-brand zooms are labelled), you're not getting true 1:1 reproduction. Some offer 1:2 (half size) but most are 1:3 or less (third size). What this means is that a subject that is 12x12mm would be 6x6mm or 4x4mm, depending on the lens.

The term "macro photography" is often used to describe any close-up shot.
However, in DSLR photography, it should really only be used to describe a photograph with a 1:1 or higher magnification.
Macro photography is commonly used by still life DSLR photographers to capture small details of objects.

My E-pl with Canon FD 200mm 2.8 lens handheld, it's quite hard to get in focus with that big lens.....
And sorry, this is not Pentax pics,wrong thread

I just bought Canon FD 200mm 2.8 lens for my E-PL2 and ordered FD-M4/3 adapter from Ebay, can't wait to try few shots with that combination.
This would be 400mm 2.8 on Pen body.
Also bought Sigma EX 50mm f2.8 Dg macro lens to use on both Pentax k10d and E-PL2.

Can you tell me why America start wars all around the globe?
Irak,Libya,Afganistan,Nigeria,etc...?
Because of oil, example: why America attack Libya?
American goverment owed Libya two hundred billion dollars for oil, Muammar Gaddafi wanted to cancel the contract with US and sell oil to Russia and China,
but no, its easier to kill M.Gadaffi and tell the world he kill million's of own people's,
Now America buy that oil fields,and everybody is happy.
Sorry about this post, i dont hate USA i dont hate nobody, but this is truth, you have cheap oil,you drive big cars with big motors,you dont care how much is oil,because is cheap,and you dont care where is oil come from, you dont care for nobody accept themselves.
Same example for Irak and Afganistan.
Yes America do great thing arround the world, but they do a bad things also...
Why is America so generous, because they need to washed their sins,to be clean in front of GOD...
I'we been in war,and i know very well what war means,i hope nobody will experience,what i experienced...(and GOD bless all soldiers who are figthing for their countries)
I dont like my country more than America,or any other country in the world
Why? Because i work every day, all day all years,and i cannot afford my self to go to vacation, i LOVE to travel,i love to see other countries, I want to see Cambodia(my favourite country) i need for that trip 1000$,thats nothing for other country's but i need to work 2 years for that trip,that can afford it,( i almost did it,few months more and i will enjoy in Cambodia)
Sorry for my bad English,and sorry for that post, you need to look from other perspective also.
And one more time.
I'm sorry if i offended someone,i do not mean that, thats not Americna people's fault( i now few American guys and girls,and i love them) thats American government faults....
