One reason why I will not be buying a K3-III is bulk and weight. When comparing my Fuji X-T20 + 27 mm lens with my K5IIS + 21 mm lens, you are talking about 475 g vs 935 g. Carrying one camera or the other around your neck for a whole day are obviously very different experiences. I also like the EVF better, because it shows the actual picture that will be recorded. Talking about IQ, I think there has been marginal progress in sensor performance since 2010 and the Sony 16 mp sensor of the K5. To me, this minimal improvement is certainly not worth 2000 $. Looking at the IR or DPR tests, the 24 mp sensor of the X-T20 performs even better than the more recent 26 mp of the X-T4. Maybe the most recent cameras are valuable for people shooting sports because of their higher speed. I can still shoot sports using my K5IIS and manual pre-focusing. But frankly, the main reason for not buying a new camera is that it would not make me a better photographer.

Some old pentaxists like I am have already made the jump. I still have a K5IIS but I much prefer to use my Fuji X-T20 and I will not look back. To me, the mirror and OVF technology is a thing of the past and the combination of lightweight and IQ is a priority. With appropriate PP and use of the Fuji film presets, I get a better output out of the Fuji camera. The manual focusing is even easier. I believe Pentax has missed the turn. They would have had a great success by making a compact MX/ME-sized camera with an EVF. Besides, I notice the IQ improvement brought by the new sensors has been marginal since 2010 and the 16 mp sensor of the K5 (look at photons to photos data for illustration). I see no point in upgrading, especially for a 26 mp sensor which has proved very similar to the previous generation 24 mp sensor that I have in my X-T20. I don't even consider my K5IIS as outdated.

As everyone else, I find the topic of the image and the lighting fantastic. If I may suggest a modification, it would be to give the image a 4:3 ratio to allow a tighter framing, providing a closer proximity to the interior of the car. Not everybody might agree but here we go.

I had up to 24 lenses at the peak of my LBA. 13 have been sold (in grey). 3 are for sale (orange). I'll probably keep the 8 remaining ones for various reasons. That would be a 2/3 slash, not bad. I think I'm cured.

I don't think there is any APS-C Pentax camera worth the upgrade from the K5IIS yet, as far as dynamic range and noise are concerned. I am not convinced the 2020 camera will be either. It is likely to have the 26 MP sensor used in other brands. In Fuji cameras, the 26 MP sensor does not seem to perform as well as the 24 MP sensor used before (X-T3 vs X-T2). Finally, it looks like the performance of the sensors has not improved much since 2010.

Nice capture and beautiful processing. The only thing that annoys me in this image is its ratio. I would put it in 3:2, keeping the upper part. It would remove the distracting white bulge of water in the foreground and make a more pleasing balance of water/sky areas.

Landscape without hesitation. Too much uninteresting foreground in the portrait one and yes, the landscape image has to be levelled.

A sort of washed out version using Analog Efex Pro. There might be better options but there are so many filters to try...

Nice and minimalist but I would somehow make it even more minimalist, as bigoak suggested, to emphasise on vertical lines.

Very nice-looking old shed: colour and texture are wonderful. At first sight, it seems that the image would benefit from more pop. I find the framing a bit tight: there is not much space on three sides of the shed. There is a slight tilt to the right. The texture of the wood suggested that the image would also look very nice in B&W. I had a quick go using Lr and Siver Efex Pro.

Nice composition and framing. The WB seems to be on the blue and pink side though. By taking a reference point on one of the white boxes on the right, you would probably get a more natural tint.

Quite conventional processing here but tried to preserve the beauty of the scenery.

Very nice shot but framing could be improved: too much empty space on the left and bottom IMO. Also, if you move the exposure up a bit, the stars above the buildings become more visible. A graduated filter on the water ensured it was not too bright.

I don't know about the copiers but I think I can predict the winner in the camera business: Pentax was bought by Ricoh but Fuji buys Xerox. I am probably not the only one having moved from Pentax (K5IIS) to Fuji (X-T20).

If this means something, it is that mirror cameras will soon be items from he past, at least for most people. Frankly, you have to be very brave to carry around a brick of over one kg when you can have a close enough IQ for half less in weight. The K5IIS will be my last SLR.
