1) You're not avoiding all the risk, you've met your delivery obligations by being a non merchant and delivering it to a common carrier. You also get a delivery confirmation.
2) Signature on delivery is actually a protection more for buyers and merchants under the UCC. But regardless, I'm taking a 3 day exam Tues-Thurs next week, and my folks work during the day, so I couldn't guarantee that anyone would be around to sign when UPS made its drop off in our neighborhood, though they would be there that evening.
3) I said I was willing to do PayPal, but asked if you could use a different but similar service because, frankly, PayPal's security doesn't have the best track record, and I'D like to be protected.
Look, if you're married to PayPal that's fine, you could have just said that and we could have gone forward. But your suggestion that I overnight an envelope full of cash to you was way out there.

Obviously, if I'm asking this question, I have a Mac.
I need a little more power when it comes to managing the photos I'm importing to my computer, and while I have CS5, I think Aperture or Lightroom might be a good way to go. As a Mac user, I'm inclined toward Aperture; as a student at a university with a site license for Lightroom ($80 vs. $170 for Aperture), I'm inclined toward Lightroom.
Anyone care to weigh in with some pros/cons of the two?

Long time Pentax user, but had to put my hobby aside for awhile for school. I was shooting a SuperProgram for years, and just ordered a K-5 as my first dslr (should be here on Tuesday- about time!)
Anyway, been using your forum as a lurker for reviews, etc., for a couple months now. Happy to be a part of it.
