Its just the A lens not the FA...the FA is definitely big bucks. I'll prob sell the lens and get something for the MX.

Thanks for all the help everyone. Decision is pretty much made. Now I'll just have to figure out which lens or lenses to get. :-)

Pentax MX and 645 35mm lens

Hello,

Excuse my ignorance on this question. Just not totally sure about what to do. So, I have a Pentax-A 645 f/3.5 35mm lens. Its a fantastic landscape lens on the 645. I got rid of my 645n body and am now thinking about using this lens on my Pentax MX (with adapter of course). Has anyone ever done this? What were the images like? Would it just be better to sell it and purchase a Pentax 20mm wide angle M lens?

Sorry for all of the questions, just not sure how it would work on the MX. It would be a waste to have the lens just sit around but not sure if it would be worth it to pick up the adapter or just get a different lens for the MX.

Thanks for the help with this everyone.

Sincerely,

Riun

Hello,

Im looking to purchase the Pentax 645 35mm f/3.5 lens in excellent condition. I think that I am just looking for the manual lens but may be interested in the FA lens depending on the price. I obviously want to do some landscape photography with my 645n and have heard wonderful things about this lens. Let me know what you have and what you want to sell it for.

Thanks,

Ryan

I know! Im so tempted by this! I just picked up a Pentax 645n...but Ive always wanted to have a TLR. This camera is a seriously great way to get into Medium Format.

I would also like to add good luck with the sale...and please someone grab this so that I do not have to be tempted every day!!

Hey Eric,

Nice to hear from you. I just got mine from KEH. Its a 645n that came with the 75mm, back, covers and it is in fantastic condition. It was rated as EX but i think that that was a conservative rating because its in like new condition. I love the camera...the feel of it is fantastic. I cannot wait to start taking some pics with it. Hopefully this weekend. you'll have to let me know how yours turns out. I am looking to get the 35mm lens for landscapes but am going to have to wait a couple of months...funds of course. I have heard fantastic things about the 120 macro for the camera.

Hello all!

Just wanted to let you all know that I am new to Pentax...but not new to photography. I am loving the Pentax lenses! I think they are fantastic. This website is great to look around on and see the thriving Pentax user community.

Im here in Canada next to the rocky mountains where there are a ton of awesome places to take photograpgh's of nature.

Looking forward to posting some of the images from around here with my new Pentax.

Sincerely,

Ryan

Hello,

Just wanted to introduce myself on the site. I have been a long admirer of Pentax systems and figured I'd take the plunge and get a 645n with the 75mm lens. I live up in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and love shooting portraits and landscapes!

I cannot wait to start taking pictures! After lurking around here and reading what others have said, I am excited about this system very much. Thanks to everyone for their posts of information about this camera.

Now I just have to pick up the 35mm lens for her!! ;)

Sincerely,

Ryan
