Peer: Melt me down? What are you talking about?
Button Maker: You were born as a shiny bright button on the coat of humanity, but your soul lost its shine, its glitter, and glean. The Great Creator does not want me to waste good material. He has ordered me to throw your soul in the pot, melt it down with other tarnished souls, and make new shiny new buttons out of the molten liquid.

I meet my white cat on the doorstep. I look into his gray eyes, his trusting tail, and it seems to me that no one can be kinder and more affectionate... He caresses me, rubs his neck against my leg, meows pitifully, as if complaining about the cruelty of life... And then I remember how he played with a dying mouse yesterday. How he beat it with his clawed paws, how he bit its neck, regulating its death... And then I realize that my affectionate white cat is a ruthless night killer. He kills in the dark, he kills under the moon, he kills every night, and not in order to live. He kills to kill--not because he's evil. It's just his nature. And one side of him is turned towards me, and the other towards the dark, merciless night. Can I change this world? I sighed, leaned over his bowl and poured food for him.

That's where the trick comes in. These are forms about which you can only say that there is nothing that takes these forms. So there really is no crucifixion, no booze. There is nothing. And there's not even that "no" either.From a dialogue of drinking buddies sitting under a tree.
