Hello everyone!

Total photography noob here, and I randomly stumbled upon this photo:

I'm guessing this photo used a semi-fish eye type lens or lens attachment? I was just wondering how can I achieve this effect with a Pentax SF-1 camera. Is it is even possible with my model/current lens?

The lens I'm using is a "SMC Pentax-F zoom 35-70mm lens"

hey guys, im looking at the epson v300. its cheap at $80..but is it worth the money to upgrade to the v500 for $140??? from what ive read the 500 scans at a higher resolution (i dont need super high resolution because i dont plan on making giant prints or anything..just strictly for viewing online) and it comes with "DIGITAL ICE" technology...it supposedly restores negatives, like hides scratches and dust from photos? but is it really necessary? what do you guys think?

i just looked up slide copiers..Opteka slide duplicator seems to be a popular one! so basically i develop my film and get the negatives, put them in the slide duplicator and take a pic with my slr thats attached to it? seems that the results are just as good or better than scanners...and only 40 bucks? wowwwwww.
this is probably a stupid question but wait how do i fit my negatives in it if it takes in slides...

Hi everyone,

I've been shooting with a Pentax SF-1, with 35 mm film. I'm tired of paying money to Costco each time I want my film scanned to a dvd. I hear you can scan the film yourself, but I don't really know much about scanners. So I'm here to ask y'all for some recommendations! As a current college student who is struggling financially, I am not looking to spend too much. A price under $100 would be ideal, but $150 is my maximum. I don't even know if you could get anything decent in the stated price range, but and I am willing to purchase something used so that might help my chances. Thanks in advance!

i dunno if its poor film processing because wouldnt all of my pictures from my film roll end up like that? but in this case only two pictures from my roll had it.

im trying to look for dark corners in my viewfinder and i really cant tell..but then again, if it happened to have dark corners, i would ask my self the same question as to why my other pictures dont have it.

thats weird because im pretty sure none of those are the reason why. because I've taken pictures using about like 5 rolls of film which is well over 100 shots..and out of those shots only 3 had the vignetting

pentax SF-1 with a SMC Pentax-F Zoom 35-70 mm lens

well i dont really plan on spending money right now on camera accessories (struggling college student), and im curious to see how using software to recreate it would look on my film pictures..and by ACR do you mean adobe camera raw?

i might actually try this. thanks a lot!!!

Hi everyone! I am a beginner photographer using a pentax SF-1 with a SMC Pentax-F Zoom 35-70 mm lens. I recently got some pictures developed and I noticed in one of the pictures it had vignetting. Heres the picture:

I really like this effect and would like to utilize it occasionally, but I have no idea how I actually achieved it. So my question is, does anyone know what kind of settings I would need to set my camera to or what to do with my lens to recreate this effect? Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone!

My name is Andy, and I reside in Los Angeles, CA. I have a passion for music, film and art. I'm currently in school fulfilling my bachelors in business, and I plan on pursuing a career in music and/or film full time after I graduate. Right now I'm working for a film production company as a production assistant.

I just recently started getting into photography, so I am as amateur as you can get! The reason why I started is because I was digging around my garage and found my dad's old camera bag! I believe he used to work for a daily newspaper back in the early 90's. He had left me a Pentax SF-1 camera with a SMC Pentax-F zoom 35-70mm lens. I know its not anything fancy, but since its one of the only things he has left behind, it means a lot to me. I thought it would be a great hobby to pick up and another fun way to express my creativity.

I hope through these forums I can learn how to utilize my camera to its full potential and be able to share some awesome pictures with all of you!
