After work I decided to go out and take the KP with me. DFA21Ltd. attached. Tripod on the bikes rack. When I step in front of the door I'm surprised. Strange warm nearly summer evening. So jacket stays at home. No sign that the sky later will turn incredible. Don't have much expectations in getting good shots. Again most captures in HDR mode, DNG raw, split using PDCU and developed with C1Pro's HDR module. My wife's favourite ...

But everyone has the right to challenge misinformation. Which way too often is interpreted as being insulting.
“Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'”
― Isaac Asimov
Here in lies the problem. If you identify personally with your own ideas, when your ideas are attacked, you feel that you yourself are being attacked. I'm not sure how that is avoidable, apart from getting a dumb grin on your face, biting your tongue and saying "That's wonderful, thanks for your contribution, everyone gets a star." In such situations, it's not possible to suggest to people they may not have it right. A forum where everyone just pats everyone else on the back wouldn't be worth much in terms of sharing information.
As with BMC I wish the OP had stayed around longer and hope he'll come back, but I also wish he'd had a lot more rigour in making the points he was trying to make. He has to realize, there are some really smart dudes here, who understand what they need to do to demonstrate what they claim is true. There isn't single topic here where I think I should have the last word, on anything. For everything I do, there are people here who know more and get better results.
My advice to the OP is don't ever think your word is the last word, on anything, and only post results you're not emotionally involved with. And absolutely, don't post a bunch of images and us expect us to figure out what why you're posting them. Everyone has their own approach and mindset, no one knows what anyone else is thinking, and what's obvious to one is often contrary to what's obvious to someone else.

Why is it whenever someone mentions the word landscape people jump to some of the widest lenses available?
Normal to mid telephoto and even super-telephoto lenses are easily overlooked but excellent for landcapes. Leica M9 - Leica APO-Summicron-M 90mm f/2 ISO 400 1/1000 Pentax K-7 SMCP-FA77mm f/1.8 Limited (115mm equiv) |

I have a sigma 8-16mm f/4.5-5.6 slow as hell, works on APS-C only and thus a very specialized lens. It is so absurdly wide it is a limited and very situational lens (and prone to flare) unlike the FA31 which can do pretty much everything a photographer could want.
Though I'll admit sometimes you really need superwide rectilinear lens to do this: Pentax KP Sigma 8-16mm f/4.5-5.6 EX DC @ 8mm f/11 [hand blended HDR] |

If you classify yourself as a collector then LBA does not apply as they are all required to complete the collection.👍

Don't limit yourself to just the Takumar series, the K series also has a number of great lenses. Once you've experienced both series, you might also try the A & M series, and then . . . . . . .

Your points about size and filter systems are very valid, but Irix's pricing is very competitive.
The Irix 15mm cine is 1195 euro in the Irix official store, with the 15mm Blackstone priced at 725 euro and the 15mm Firefly at 475 euro. The 21mm cine has launched at the same price as the 15mm cine, suggesting that a 21mm Blackstone could be less than half the price of the DFA 21mm. A Firefly version might therefore cost only a third as much as the DFA.

In your position I'd strongly recommend the FA31, it's an extremely versatile limited lens that won't limit you.

Portraiture:
Pentax K5IIS - FA31 Limited
Pentax KP - FA31 Limited

Pentax K5IIs - FA31 Limited
As a former owner of the FA15mm f/4 Limited (I replaced it with the optically superior Sigma 8-16mm f/4.5~5.6 in late 2012) I can say that the D-FA21mm f/2.4 is basically a DA15mm f/4 on steroids* and a really fun lens to work with on both APS-C and full frame. Pentax K-1 SMCP-HD D-FA21mm f/2.4 ED ASPH Limited
The close focus ability of this lens makes it a lot of fun and the Bokeh you get from using its close focus ability is very pleasing. Pentax K-1 - SMCP-HD D-FA21mm f/2.4 ED ASPH Limited
* Flare resistance isn't quite in the same ballpark, however the Dfa21 is optically superior to the DA15mm f/4 in many ways.

Now I have the DA 15 (which I've only used on APS-C) and the M 20/4, the FA 20-35, and the DFA 15-30 (all of which I have used on the K-1). Now the tricky thing here is to establish what it is about the DA 15 that "brings forth a beautiful character." Is it the "rendering"? But the rendering, I would contend, is very subtle, and it isn't plainly obvious that DA 15 renders all that differently from the FA* 24 or the M 20/4 or any other classic wide angle lens. If you have a very sharp eye, perhaps you'll notice subtle differences. But most Pentax prime lenses render pretty well and I'm not sure that's the main issue. I suspect the real difference between the DA 15 and FF equivalents like the M 20/4, FA 20/2.8, K 20/4 would be in color rendering and lens contrast. Those differences, in any case would be a lot more noticeable. The FA* 24 should render beautifully. After all, it's a Jun Hirakawa designed star lens. But however it might render, you're never going to get the same colors, or even the same level contrast, out of that lens than you will from the DA 15. The FF ultra-wide angle lenses that will get you closest to the DA 15's color and contrast will be the DFA 15-30 and the DFA 21 Ltd.
Now I wish I had some samples of the exact image taken with the DFA 15-30 and the DA 15, but I don't have any such images. This is about as close as I have: two images of the String Lake in Grand Tetons NP taken years apart. First, with the DA 15:
