I was shocked at how close I got to everything on safari. 300mm was plenty for me. And I left the f4 300mm at home, going withnthevzoom.

The more you use tav, the more you will like it. The way I see it, you sometimes need t, sometimes need a, sometimes both. To get the best exposure, need to let film speed be the variable. That's what digital has over film.

You'll want two dslr bodies, a movie camera not the k5 if you really want movies. A short and long zoom lens. Many of not most critters are going to be well within or too close for 300mm in my experience. Don't change lens on the go or you will dust up. I'd drop the handle extension. You will probably not need a monopod or tripod, but ask the driver to get the sun behind you, and stop the engine. Most of you opportunities will unfortunately be of the south end of the critters...the African salute. Delete liberally every night and remember to selectively use shake reduction...it takes time to spin up...often better to add iso. Shoot raw!!!! You want to do a lot of pp.

Peace everyone. I apologize for responding the way I did. I have a K-5...actually two. I'm as annoyed as a lot of others, that the level is off by 3 degrees and I have to send in the camera to get it fixed, and then the experience is only occasionally successful. So...I asked if anyone knew if the new K-5 II's would have the ability to calibrate this without having to send it in.
"Read the manual" was about as helpful as an online chat with ATT. That's all. I know that is a common and appropriate response on forums like this, but in this case...it was silly. I should have let it go, but my printer was acting up at the same time and I was not having a good day.

The weird thing is I was asking about a camera I don't own...so I don't have a manual.

Please do not post just to get your count up. There is nothing in the manual, nothing on the internet about how to adjust an out of level, auto level. If I'm wrong, I'll buy you a steak.

I already have it packed up to ship asap. So I'd have to unpack everything. But I will tell you this If it isn't spotless, you can send it back. You will not be able to tell it from a brand new K-r. There is no lens, just the body, but you can buy a kit lens for much less than all the extras I have included.

My auto level is reliably off by 1.8 degrees. I have put that correction into Lightroom. But it should be included in a firmware update to add a user adjustable offset.
