Adorama, B&H, and Amazon, all have them for $629 + free shipping. Adorama lists $699, but if you add to cart, the price is lower. I bought one last week from Amazon.

There seems to be a little confusion here -

The K10D does not come with the DA* 16-50 lens for $345. $345 gets you the K10d + DA 18-55 "kit" lens that came with it.

I will however make you a deal if you'd like to purchase the K10d and the DA* together, with or without the kit lens included.

Also, forget about the items being available Monday. They are available now. I can beg/borrow/steal a camera for the weekend.

Thanks for looking.

One other note, I cannot find the manual for the K10D. I have it somewhere and will hopefully find it before the camera sells. I've modified the item description accordingly.

FYI: The $90 tag I put on the filter is based on the Adorama price, which is where I purchased the filter in April 2009. XD77UVGB Hoya 77mm DMC PRO1 Digital Multi-Coated UV (Ultra Violet) Filter. ($94.35)

Item Description
FOR SALE:

Pentax K10D in Excellent condition. This camera is in great shape and operates flawlessly. I purchased it new in March 2007 and have taken very good care of it. It comes with the original box, strap, battery, and charger.
I am asking $315 for the body, $345 if you also want the kit lens (includes hood, caps, box). I will ship USPS, $15 flat rate, anywhere in the lower 48. SOLD!

Pentax DA* 16-50 f2.8 lens.
I purchased this lens new in July 2008. It works perfectly, no focusing issues on my K10D. Includes original box, hood, manual, case, and both caps. Also includes a Hoya 77mm DMC PRO1 UV filter (over $90 new)Asking $600. I will ship USPS, $15 flat rate, anywhere in the lower 48. SOLD!

I will consider partial trade for the K10D, in particular I'm after a DA 40mm.

I will post some photos tonight.

Note again that these items will be available to ship on Monday July 20th.

I would like to also add a few things:
1. The prices are firm, unless you want to work a trade.
2. These are used items, sold "as is". I hate to have to include this, but for some reason when items get above a couple hundred dollars some people get this "buyers remorse" and decide they need a refund as soon as they receive the item. Ask any questions now, be sure of what you are buying.

Having said that, both of these items are in EXCELLENT condition.

Please send me a private message if interested in the item!

Best Wide Angle for Backpacking Trips?

I take my K10D and DA* 16-50 backpacking. It is heavy, big, gets in the way, etc...but it is a great performer, weather sealed, etc. I don't like having to change lenses when I'm out as a lot of my backpacking is in the desert and it is really easy to get dust on the sensor. So the 16-50 goes on the camera before I leave and doesn't come off.

Today I found an Exaktar 28mm f/3.5 M42... Anyone heard of this? It was free. It's in near perfect condition, haven't had much of a chance to try it out yet. I did snap a quick photo of my kid...
poor lighting, ISO 800 f/3.5, 1/15sec.

I have a few that I was given for free...
M42 Yashinon 35mm f/3.5
Pentax-M 50mm f/2
M42 Vivitar 400mm & 2x tele-converter
M42 Vivitar 200mm f/3.5
K mount CPC Phase 2 35-70mm

Here are a few shots with the CPC Phase 2

oh and I have a Sigma 135mm f/2.8, also M42. Here's a shot from that lens:

This bunch, along with an M42 mount Mamiya 55mm f/1.8 that I've owned for 20 or so years (and it was quite used when I got it), have held me over well until I could order some newer stuff. (just ordered the DA* 16-50 this afternoon!)

oh and how could I forget my Pentax-A 50mm f/2 I snagged off of Ebay for a mere $35 shipped...talk about an under appreciated lens. My copy is truly "like new" and is fantastic. It's ridiculous how much better it is than the "kit" 18-55. The Pentax-A 50:

Maybe you got a bad one. I've had a pretty good experience with the Pentax kit lens, and as this thread displays, others have as well. For a kit lens, it's pretty darn good.

Honestly I haven't used the lens very much. With the outer ring engaged, it loses all sharpness wide open:

But improves with smaller aperture, I think this was 5.6:

Playing with this lens more is something I've been meaning to do.

I have one.

There's an outer ring that turns the front element allowing you to increase the magnification further.

Some info I found (not much really): Sigma Telemax 135mm f/2.8-22.0 FM=135cm (Short Telephoto) #273 - M42
