For whatever it is worth, when I questioned the Ricoh Rep at the NY show last Thursday, he said that the FF senor is 36mp and 42mp with Pixel Shift enabled. However, I did not ask him if the senor is the same as the Nikon D800.

This lens is a Pentax KA mount. There is no Ricoh pin to remove. By the way, this is a wonderful and hard to find lens. I am very surprise that no one has purchased it already.

Yes, the minimum focusing distance for the Vivitar 135mm f2.8 CF lens is about 0.6m or 24". The minimum focusing distance for a typical 1:2 90mm macro lens is approximately 16”. You will gain 8” of working distance which is a great plus for working with bugs. When comparing to my Bokina Vivitar Series 1 90mm f2.5, this lens is just as sharp for macro work. |

You are right. It started with the CV58mm, then the CV90mm, and then the CV40mm. For months now, I have been thinking about getting the CV20mm but kept coming up with reasons why I should not get one. So it never ends once it started. :)

I would agree that if I have a FA43, a DA40, and an Ultron 40; I would probably not keep all three. I would keep the FA43 if I like it the best and let the other 2 go. If I like the Ultron better than the FA43, I will keep the Ultron with the DA40 and let the FA43 go. With that in mind, if I have a chance I would like to try the FA43 in the future.

I have both the DA40 and the Ultron. The Ultron is quite sharp at f2 and sharper than the DA40 at other apertures. However, the DA40 always auto-focus accurately and give very decent photos. So I will be keeping both for now.

I have a generic Maximal Power 7.4v battery that would work just fine with the K5. But when I put this battery in the K-01, the K-01 would not power up. When I take out the same battery from the K-01 and put it in the K5, the K5 power-up just fine and show a full charge.
The K-01 works fine with my two other Pentax OEM 7.2v batteries.

I had mixed experiences with the Katz Eye screen on my K5. I found that when using muti-segment metering, the Katz Eye split prism screen affects exposure on all my lenses with maximum apertures ranging between F1.4 to F4.0. I also found that even with the same lens the exposure compensation is slightly different under different lighting conditions. Since I only have one camera body for all my lenses, I found it very difficult to keeping track of all the different exposure compensation values for each lens under different lighting conditions. Because of these reasons and with much regret, I decided to return the screen.
I had much happier later with a Nikon F6-J microprism focus screen. The Nikon microprism screen did not materially affect the camera’s metering system.

Tom, thank you for the explanation.
Sunniemurf, as Tom has explained, the contacts on the flash are all normal. What seems to be a missing contact is actually a recessed alignment/locking pin that would extend into the camera's hot shoe when the locking lever on the flash is turned to lock the flash on to the camera. You can see the corresponding receiving hole for the pin on your camera's hot shoe.
