This isn't camera related, but several years ago I was an avid biker. I was also a Paramount fan boy. Paramount was the high end, custome made to order racing division of Schwinn. I had an '85 or '86 red Paramount, but it was slightly too big and despite my best efforts just never could make it work so I foolishly sold it. Vowing to one day find another one. Well fate was smiling on me a few days ago when I was browsing marketplace and an old bike for $200 popped up. I almost passed when I noticed the signature P on the head tube and sure enough, was a late model Paramount. Looked like the right size. and he had just put it out about an hour earlier. I answered the ad and said I'sd take it. It was reserved. I offered a $100 more and he caved. Given what he told me about it, he indeed knew what it was but just wanted to dump it. It's a mint condition '88 (manufacture date 11/87, so I assume it's an '88 production year. '87, or '88 I don't care. It's a US made Paramount (Schwinn was in financial trouble and started selling Paramounts made from Japan. The frames were techicologically superior, but the purists look down on them. I have one of those and it's a great bike, but it's like if Chevy had Subaru make a version of the Corvette... just not te same. So I'm happy. It's cpvered in dirt and grime from hanging in a barn for years but not a scratch other wise. It will be loved and rebuilt probably this winter. I'm happy and as giddy as a school girl. My wife, well, not so much...

I don't know if I've ever posted here. I'll give the K-01 some love. Great sensor.

Mine is converted to full-spectrum, and these particular shots are straight out of the camera with the Kolari IR Chrome filter.

I can pick any shutter speed I want in manual, or in AE what was available for the AE exposure envelope before it got to frame #1, and of course after that.

Nikon themselves realized that due to the lack of weather sealing that caused electrical failures (and thus copied the lead set by the Pentax LX), as well as beefing up the top plate and the prism by making them out of titanium. The regular amateur F3 has perhaps the most easily dented prism I have seen in any camera. It's hard finding one that is not kinked!
Also the achilles heel of the standard F3 is the circuit board under the rewind knob where the flash attaches. A nice solid whack there caused it to crack, killing the camera. With the pro P model, Nikon fixed that by beefing up the top plate (titanium) and also adding a hotshoe to the ti prism head.
The pro model also got a bigger/taller shutter speed dial, and raised shutter button.

Again with the 30mm. My go-to wide is the K 35/3.5, so I've enjoyed the change of using the 30/2.8 again recently.

I've been pretty fortunate in picking up some good photographic bargains over the years, many of which have been bids on eBay auctions ending during the working day (when fewer folks are bidding). And I just bagged another bargain this same way. It might, in fact, be my star buy of the year... a brand new in (slightly tatty) box / old stock Tamron SP AF 180mm f/3.5 Di LD (IF) 1:1 Macro (B01) in Sony A-mount, to use with my Hasselblad HV (or my A7 MkII + LA-EA4 adapter). The protective plastic is still on the focus distance window, the mount shows no signs of ever having been fitted to a camera, lens and hood in original plastic bags and stored in the supplied padded lens bag, no dust on anything, and all the documents are present. There's just a couple of tears and crumpled corners on the outer box, but enough - perhaps - to preclude sale as new retail stock.

This lens usually sells for GBP £700 - 800 (for the A-mount version) here in the UK, although Amazon had *one* for sale at £451 in February this year. The eBay listing I stumbled across was due to end early on a weekday afternoon with no reserve, so I set up a snipe bid with a cheeky limit of £200, never expecting to win it - but win it I did, for a paltry £181 (with shipping, £192 in total). I half expected the seller to cancel the sale - and in all honesty, I wouldn't have blamed them. But no, they shipped it same day and it arrived this afternoon. I'm beyond delighted :D

It's a lovely bit of glass and, though not exactly small, it's obviously more compact and lightweight than my Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 USM, which is the only other fast AF lens I own covering this focal length. I don't know yet whether I'll take to shooting at 180mm, but I'm looking forward to trying it out. For what I paid, if it ends up being a shelf queen, I should be able to move it on quite easily and either recoup my expenses or make a profit. But I have a good feeling that I'll like it :)

New addition and what a beast! Especially when compared to the LX, which was aimed at the same market (although a generation later).

I picked this one up locally just to see what the fuss is about. I'll run a few rolls through and see how it goes :)

Went to the local trunk sale to say hi to some people & maybe snag a bit of film. Walked away with a new camera body. Oops.

Stuck it next to the VX1000 I was carrying for a portrait, since they're distant relatives. Whether it's an improvement or not is a matter of personal opinion, though I will say that they somehow made the waist-level finder worse. Even the early Varex WLF that came with my Exa is better than the one for the Topcon R series.

I bought this 35mm f/3.5 Auto-Takumar in box more than 10 years ago on eBay. I still like it because it shows how much care was given to new lenses back then. No plastic, just carton, leather and silk. It must have been pure joy to open such a package in the 50's/60's!

I had added another vivitar 28mm 2.8 close focussing lens to my ebay watch list, or I thought I had. It was 25 pounds, a fair price for this lens. So I was investigating which version of this lens it was on Robin Parmars site. When I flicked back to look at the lens I saw it said 2.0. I clicked buy now faster than you can say potato.

An old Sheffield steel plant that was mothballed about a decade ago. During the time I've lived in the area the mill took in train loads of scrap iron and smelted the scrap into rebar and railroad spikes. This is the last vestige of the mill as it was razed back in the winter.

This is an old film shot from a road trip in the late '90s. My wife and I were on a trip to the New England coast and happened on this little harbor town, Camden, ME.

It was an amazing place with beautiful light and amazing history.

Actually I do not submit images anywhere as you described. I stopped posting images here long ago, and I stopped posting images on Facebook long before that. And I decided from Day One not to join Instagram for the same underlying reasons. I only post images on my website; I post links to my images occasionally on Facebook (but I have come to dislike Facebook and haven't posted much there in the past year.) Many photographers do not post their images on social media and the like, and there have been many articles written against the idea of allowing publishers of various sorts to publish your images "for exposure" or "on spec."

This is a personal preference decision and if another person feels 180 degrees differently that's fine with me. There are good arguments for both approaches; each person just has to pick what makes sense for her or him. Photographers who chose no to let their work out for free, however, are not overwrought in their decisions. Here are an article and a video that address both perspectives:

This is How People in Other Industries Respond When Asked for Free Spec Work

FYI: this is written in a friendly tone :)
