As a father of 8 month old and a K100D owner I think something like Pentax-DA 35mm F2.4 AL or Sigma 18-50mm F2.8-4.5 would be very good and affordable.
I have Pentax 50mm 1.4, and while I love the photos, the 50mm on 1.5 crop factor make me step back pretty far. A lot of Kodak moments go untaken. I think something in 28-35mm range would be more useful. I also don't like to haul heavy lens as the camera with AA batteries is pretty heavy.

I can copy the pictures via card reader and they are still corrupted. I suspect Eye-Fi may be too power hungry and that may cause corruption.. or probably something else.

They look good on LCD but corrupted on the computer. I tried different viewers (built in Windows Vista viewer, Picasa, Microsoft Photomanager) with the same result. All of the corrupted images came from the same Eye-Fi SD card.

About 10% of the jpg shots I take come out corrupted. The lower part of the frame is shifted. I haven't seen anything like that in RAW and I'm not sure if it is a card or camera issue. Has anyone seen anything like that?

My K100D worked fine for more than a year. I could take some hundred shots on one charge. Now I'm lucky to get 20 off freshly charged set or I may even get "battery depleted" message with batteries right from the charger. I think my LA Crosse BC700 charger is to blame cause the problem started approximately when my old cheap charger broke... I think that La Crosse charges Ni-MH batteries higher than 1.2V and it makes the camera "think" that I have depleted alkaline instead of overcharged NiMH but I have no scientific data to prove it. I can discharge the batteries in the charger and it shows that they have about 2200 - 2500mAh capacity ... :( Oh, and i forgot to mention that alkaline work ok.

I submitted rebate form for my K100D kit in May and got the rebate in January after some phone calls and faxing the form to Pentax. Should I mention that rebate website printed in the form was down and the phone number was disconnected?
I guess I was so "lucky" because Pentax changed rebate processor in July. I guess a lot of submitted rebates got lost.

470 euros for K100D Super kit? That's quite overpriced.

BTW, I ordered 18-250 a month ago and they had estimated delivery "December 25", but I got it last week, so I guess you'll see yours sooner.

I still haven't gotten my $50 rebate from May. The phone # from the rebate form is disconnected and CSR from Pentax is simply rude.
I guess it's time to call BBB
