Great lens. Takes a beating in the field. It's been to Burning Man with me for many years. Dust storms for days, rain, heat lots of dancing. Cleaning the dust off with wet wipes. Only thing that ever stopped it was dropping it on the floor. Don't do that.

Well, it's nice that it's water resistant but don't forget dust resistant.
Two words: Burning Man.
This year was burn number 9 for my K5. It works great and makes it through this every year: BM150845 | eddaytona | Flickr

Watching Yankees v. Mets tonight. TV camera follows a foul ball. Shows a guy with an old Pentax camera. Announcers remark "Wow. That's a real film camera. My Dad had one like that!"
Geez!

I loved that camera! One of the first autofocus cameras on the market. Autofocus was spot on.
Came with 35-70 macro. Great lens. Still use it today. Also the 70-210. Meh but ok. Pop up flash that was perfect for outdoor fill flash. Basic center autofocus and metering. Always right on.
Simple program lines that I wish were still in use in today's crazy digital program lines.
Still break it out every so often to shoot film. I have a couple of batteries hoarded away. I bought another for $20 only because the viewfinder eye cup had fallen apart and I wanted to put it on my original camera.
My biggest complaint was it's incredibly loud. Built like a tank.

I set diopter so that read-out info in viewfinder is in focus. Imo better than the view of the "elements" you are seeing through the finder. ---------- Post added 11-26-22 at 10:15 PM ----------

Nothing.
Loved Pentax since 1973. Honeywell spotmatic, SF1 (great camera still in use. Super Program. Kx. K5 (going to Burning Man for 8th time. Can't kill it even though tried) but won't pay anything for an obsolete dslr system.

Last night at closing ceremonies there were hundreds of athletes and functionaries.
There were plenty of photos taken on phones.
Then there was gold medalist Nathan Chen with a Lumex G.
It was so odd that the announcers exclaimed "A real camera!"
It was like they sighted an extinct bird.
Kinda tells ya all you need to know what's coming inevitably with "real cameras".

This is Akahane’s point: there is no money to be made in the mass production of DSLRs. They are yesterday’s technology and, in the same way that we’ve seen integrated camera sales all but erased, the same fate awaits the DSLR

"will also end distributor relationships and go direct-to-consumer."
Huh? What distributor relationship? Not in the US for sure.
Just another way to say can't justify any new models and the business has become unviable.

They should be giving a better deal to trade up to an obsolete camera system.

As the old curse goes: May you have a winning lawsuit.
As a lawyer (crim law) I get asked all the time if client can sue this witness or that agency. Sure, I tell them, you can sue anyone for anything. Doesn't mean you will win.

Guy is in doctor's office for annual prostate exam. Takes down his pants, points his butt in the air.
Doctor says "You have lettuce growing out of your butt"
Guy replies, "That's just the tip of the Iceberg."

Well, I went for the deal and I have it installed with no problem. Shows that it is version 4.3.3 and the search for updates says newest version available copyright 2020. Tutorial includes AI Enhance, AI Accent, AI Structure along with lots of presets including sky replacement, and LUTs. Tested an image and it seems to work just fine. Checking the website shows that this might not be the latest latest version but heck, it's pretty cool and easy to use at first try.

My last two lenses are the DA16-85 zoom because the first one kept jamming the zoom ring despite being "repaired" twice by the certified Pentax repair company. Gave up when it broke down for the third time.
This lens is the sweet spot for me in the wide to telephoto range. And, it's WR for when I use it in "the most beautiful place in the world that will try to kill you" .

I still have that lens in heavy rotation. Originally lived on my still working SF1 along with the 70-210 kit zoom.
Great little lens. Super sharp. Full frame. Well done.
