Just did my first trip to Puerto Vallarta with JUST the limiteds and no zoom (except the 10-17 fisheye, but that's another story). I think I MIGHT be liberating my 16-85. LOVED travelling with the Limiteds in their little Limited Hardshell case - you'd never DREAM it was camera stuff; I looked like some kind of hippy flute player or something. In the case I had the 15, the 40, the 10-17 fisheye, an extra battery, and a couple of filters and a lens cloth. The 21 practically never left the camera - I used it for 90% of my travel shooting. Pentax absolutely NAILED the focal length on this thing, and focussing down to 6" or less, wow....here's some proof. All handlheld, K3ii with no battery grip, so it was nice and small and discreet - I looked like an old guy with a film camera with this setup, and nobody was ever intimidated by it like they often are with a battery grip and a big zoom. I'm definitely going to complete my set with the 70 and eventually the 35 macro but in the HD version (better bokeh); my current limiteds are all green ring for better starbursts.
If you're on the fence at all about this lens, don't be. It is magnificent - PERFECT travelling companion, and the ultimate street shooter. Zoom-schmoom - zoom with your feet. You can just TELL what's going to work with this lens, and that is almost everything. Just watch out if you're near a cliff! (lol!)
Cheers,
Cameron

I know I'm biased, especially since I owned that lens for over 20 years, but I think the Pentax blows the Zeiss away, personally. I like 90% of the Pentax images better that the Zeiss, and the colour rendition is vastly superior, IMHO.
Thanks,
Cameron

When I take my Ltd’s travelling with me, I use that 21mm 95% of the time. Focuses down to 6 inches, zoom with your feet. It’s small light and discreet and you’ll have a wonderful time. The thing is sharp, contrasty, and wonderful. The only drawback is that it’s not weatherproof.
Cheers,
Cameron

Took my limited set on vacation, and used the 21 mm 95% of the time. Focusses down to 6”, sharp, contrasty, small and discreet, how could you NOT love this lens? Zoom with your feet!

I did review this software for this site here: Review: Affinity Photo vs Photoshop - Hands-On Tests | PentaxForums.com
I learned so much doing that review that I like this software more and more. For one thing, PDF's become editable, both photographically and textually. And that's just a start! Automatic spacing if you are laying out multiple photos in posters. Yes, you CAN do that in Photoshop, but you have to poke around and invoke it every time. In Affinity, it is just ON all the time till you turn it off. And click detents to line things up in every plane. Fabulous if you're doing weekly posters like me.
It just makes sense. One of a million things I am liking about it.
Cheers,
Cameron

Having used Photoshop since 1996 or so, I am liking Affinity Photo more and more the more I use it. Will never go back to the bottomless moneypit that is Adobe now.
IMO, they have taken all the stuff that has been forever wrong with Photoshop and fixed it. Much more streamlined workflows, much better and more logical interface, endless undos, and things that should happen automatically just do. It's brilliant, but somewhat subtle and understated. The only thing missing is 3D support, if that's a thing for you.
And I certainly hope they're working on a Lightroom competitor. I'd be all in.
Definitely NOT a copy, more of a refinement and an evolution.
And you only pay for it ONCE!
Cheers,
Cameron

Would you ship it to Canada if I pay shipping? After Christmas might help to avoid gouging.

Stopped reading them completely after the 645 debacle. And after they trashed the limited lenses… A bunch of idiots. And corrupt ones at that.
IMHO.

The SMC 21 is a magnificent lens. I have no idea why people sell them. Crazy.
If you can pick one up for 200, go for it! Basically the same great optics, and better starbursts than HD! And if you put one on, and lose the battery pack, you look like an old guy with a film camera, so no hassles.
Cheers,
Cameron ---------- Post added 02-28-2021 at 02:53 PM ----------
Yup. It is a truly GREAT but highly underappreciated lens. Don't forget it is SOMEWHAT wide, like a 30, so it takes a bit of getting used to. Here's two vastly different images, that shows it's strengths, which are many:
Wide angle for landscapes:
When you see this one full size, and the original format on a really good 4K Mac monitor, it is almost 3d!
Closeups for macro (focuses to just under 6"):
Contrast, sharpness, saturation off the charts. It DEFINITELY has the Limited 'magic'. But it takes some work, you have to know wide angle, to really get this thing. I've had some great lenses in my day, but this is possibly the greatest.
Don't miss my massive old FA*28-70 or my FA* 24 F2 one little bit.
Zoom with your feet! F5.6 to 8 and you don't even have to focus!
Cheers,
Cameron

incredible rendering, contrast, colours, etc. And, of course, teeny...
Handheld, in a dark nightclub, ISO 3200, 1/40th, F3.5, Pentax K3ii.
Studio shot:
Just do it, and sell your Stigma...you could buy another Limited!
Screw them if they won't support Pentax!
