Thanks RAWR. The reset apparently did the trick. I reset it once and nothing changed but did it again and it seems to be working fine now. Hopefully just a software glitch.

As I was about to begin a parasailing adventure and ready to hand my K200D to my wife to get the shots, I took several to get it set up for her. First two were fine and on third attempt, something broke. Pictures started coming out totally white. Later investigation revealed that the shutter is openning but not closing. The mirror is hanging up. The strange thing is that is works fine on the M setting or when the camera flash is popped up. ??? Looks like I will be sending it in for repair unless any of you have any suggestions.
Thanks,
Carl

Back in 1967 I shot LeMans and the German Grand Prix. I was able to lay on the edge of each track as the cars came by about 10 feet from my head. I got some great shots, but take my advice, don't do that...! I was young and foolish. In these long races, just keep shooting and try everything that comes to mind. The delete button is your friend.

My huge backpack is too big. My hardcase is too small. I have a holster I wear on my belt for Zoos and such. But I am looking at sling bags to hold either my K200 or K100 Super and 2 additional lenses and my 360 flash. I am looking at the KATA 3inone-10 or 20, the Velocity 8X or Zeikos SLR Sling backpack. Anyone had any experience with these 3?
Thanks,
Carl

I use VSO Image Resizer but am unable to resize down to the 120x120 for the profile picture on here. The lowest mine goes is 320x200 and then there are several other options like Ipod Photo (thats not small enough) HD, and Sony PSP.
Any suggestions on what other program I can use for this?
Thanks,
Carl

I saw that also in my K200D manual and reread it several times. Certainly is confusing but I have always used rechargeables in both of mine. They last forever. I do not recall that wording in my K100D Super manual.

16GB... man that's 5120 pics on my K100D Super. I can remember when 16GB was a big hard drive on a computer. Now its a postage stamp.

I too bought my first Pentax in 1968. A K1000 after my Voightlander broke down.
I used it for 40 years without ever having a problem with it. Still have it. Early in the digital game I purchased a couple of HPs and when I decided to get serious again I knew it had to be a Pentax. Bought a K100D Super last year and just picked up a K200D. I looked at the big 2 but wanted to continue using all my Pentax lenses and what really sold me was looking on Ebay and seeing all the Nikon and Cannon Refurbished units for sale. You seldom see a refurbished Pentax. There has to be a reason for that. But I agree that marketing leaves something to be desired. I fear that the merger will not help that situation either. I'm sure Pentax is based on repeat sales and apparently its working, but I think they can do better by getting the word out.

Jesus,
I just upgraded to a K200D and was thinking I might sell my K100D Super. I can check to see how many shots it has taken, but it's not a very high count and is in superb condition. About a year and half old. If interested email me at crbrune@yahoo.com and I will send you pictures and pertinent data.
Thanks,
Carl

I have been observing on here for quite some time. Got an email today saying I must post so as not to be considered a spammer. So, here I am. Had a K1000 for 40 years. Now have a K100D Super and just purchased a K200D. Have a large assortment of lenses. Recently bought the 360 flash. Sooo much to learn with all these features and I just want to shoot. I have a small portable studio setup that I use to photograph relatives and friends. I don't charge and they don't gripe. I just enjoy doing it along with outdoor work
