Thank you to everyone that posted (blackcloudbrew, detritus, manntax) very useful to hear from you all, and thank you bmw I think you are right along with the other guys, in that case any recommendations?

The thing is I got myself a Sigma EF 610 DG Super about 2 years ago and it is so un-user friendly and complicated to use and doesn't save the settings, it broke only last month I sent it to Sigma they said they can not fix it so I have to buy a new flash now and I am totally lost, all I want it for is simplicity but yet powerful enough! :(

Hello guys,

Need some advice from someone who owns or knows anything about thePENTAX AF 160FC Auto Macro Ring Flash, I have read reviews on how great it is on macro photography, but what I really wanted to know was what about how useful or suited is it as a flash for wedding photography or street photography, basically is it only worth getting for macro photography?

I can not seem to find anyone comment on it other than "awesome macro flash" since I do wedding photography I wanted a new flash, anyone got any useful information on this flash for me, or first hand experience, seems like very few people have had this since it is very expensive!

Kind Regards

Hello guys,

Need some help here, I am going to shoot my friends car and am looking for a sunrise point where the car can also be in view, usually it is easy to find a nice sunrise spot to take pictures of the surrounding area(s) but to have your own car placed in the shot is difficult to find such a location, does anyone have any locations for me to look up please? Almost forgot to let you know I am looking for a place in London!

Kind Regards

Interesting sterretje, thank you, it's too late for me to even rush out and get a diffuser so I will give it my best shot on Thursday and learn on the job (lol lets hope it pulls off, I might paste some images down for you guys to give me some feedback) it is in a house so I can use the ceiling to my advantage, usually I am in a massive hall!

Anvh great links, thank you; such good information that I was not aware of, my problem was and is the shadows or the bright reflection of the light (direct flash light). Bouncing light off the ceiling without a diffuser is a good answer but I must be doing something wrong (for something so simple) sometimes the light is far too bright or image is under exposed.

Yes perhaps my settings or flash config needs work but I also though the diffuser helps in "softening" the light which is suppose to improve overall image quality? Maybe I need to go back to the drawing board before I spend some money and practice more without a diffuser. I don't know but the article/links were good!

Kind Regards

Waj.

Thanks Anvh but I seem to have fallen in love with the SpectraLight flash diffuser which pretty much does both right? bounce light and reflect? Now my biggest problem is finding one! It seems like a Asian sold product in Asian only which sucks because I would like to own one by Thursday and looks unlikey, anyone have any ideas where I can find one in the UK, London?

Kind Regards

Hello again Forum,

I am stuck on finding myself a flash diffuser can anyone tell me where I should be looking and what type(s) currently I own a Sigma EF-610 DG SUPER and it just creates too many dark shadows and bright spots up close!

All I know is that they come in various shapes and sizes but no idea how the material or brand makes any different? And they seem to be very cheap as well.

Kind Regards

Hello everyone;

again I need the help of the well informed; I'm looking everywhere whether I can find any information on the compatibility of the BG4 Pentax with the SAMSUNG GX20?

If the answer is yes then say no more, if it is no, can anyone point me in the right direction of what BG will work with my SLR?

Kind Regards

A bit of an old post but I settled for Sigma AF 24-70mm f/2.8 EX DG HSM, didn't go for a prime lens or a zoom lens that exceeded up to even a 100mm, I think I need more practice than to just throw away money, but I am pleased with this lens as it improves on the kit lens giving me enough scope to do what I like for now till I decided I need a longer zoom!

Thanks again people!

Sorry I did mean the 610 not 530, by the looks of it the 610 is cheaper so I'm leaning towards the Sigma over the Metz 58 AF2, and have totally disregarded the Pentax now so narrowed down to 2. Going to go down the stores next week to get hands on these 2 and decide on the day which feels right for me! Thank you all again, much appreciated!

Surely that is a matter of time before one gets used to it but I will consider that in my decision when picking out of the 3 that I have nailed it down to. (Metz mecablitz 58 AF-2, PENTAX AF 540FGZ and the Sigma 530).

Interesting points, but as Coeurdechene mentioned I really am going into the deep end quickly, but in theory I do think your right. I still cant decide, I have another 2 weeks before I need to purchase it, I'm very picky I want the best I can get yet, its hard to nail down which is better for what I need it.

But thank you guys, you all have been helpful in making me take my time further, even if I'm still on the fence!

Hello again guys,

I'm just researching on flash, and which one should I should get I have a Samsung GX20 with Sigma AF 24-70mm f/2.8 EX DG HSM lens and I need a flash, whats the best flash for someone who wants to use it for weddings indoors?

With a budget of £200 max, I'm very picky and really want the best for my money, of course its my first flash so people usually say keep it cheap and learn the curve, but I really want to learn the curve with the best, throw me in the deep end!

Whats the best option for £200 Please?

:)

Thank you so much, now I have to spend weeks seeing which one but again choices are better than no choices at all, thank you.

I had a budget of £500 but since I have recently saved money on a flight, Iv got around £900 to spend, and Im always wary of second stuff, but again thank you.

Thanks for that advice, but what I don't understand is why would you want a prime lens when you can just have a zoom lens? I mean surely there's more to the fact that its a set focal length?

And Thanks you all again (inc Dave)

Samsung GX20

Hello all,

I need some sound advice, I have a Samsung GX20 with the standard kit lens (18-55), I am looking for a new lens, my problem is I don't actually know what lens are compatible with my DSLR. Aside from Samsung, I even emailed Sigma in London and they told me none of their lens are compatible with my camera yet online somewhere I found that there are some Sigmas that are.

So I am totally lost, after days of research I find lens but not sure which ones are compatible and which ones are not, is there just one site with a list that I can pick from? Or is it not as easy as that?

Another issue I would like some help on is that whats a prime lens and whats the difference between that and a zoom lens? With a budget of £500 I would like to buy two lens if possible, one with a zoom up to and around 200mm and another to replace my current 18-55 since I believe its not a good lens as far as kit lens come.

Thanks for reading people, I look forward to discussing and receiving some help!
