Is it possible to edit the thread title? I'd just start a new thread, but haven't yet sent in my $10, so I'm being denied.

I have only used the Nikon software. Once I learnt it, it worked fine.
For anyone intererested, I'm done scanning so I do have my Coolscan listed in the buy/sell here.

I've done a couple of recent checks and there seem to be very few, if any, threads discussing scanning film or slides. A while back I purchased a Nikon film scanner and was looking for info and comments, but found nil.
I would have thought that there are lots of Pentax shooters still using older film cameras. Where is everyone? Or have I looked in the wrong places?
Are you guys doing any archiving of old film? I've done mine all and would highly recommand it to anyone. Everything is so alive again looking at the old times on the monitor.

I have a very nice looking Pentax SP1000 with 55mm f2 lens. This is a clean camera, and the viewfinder is basically free of dust. The meter funtions as well.
I would keep it for myself, but there is one issue I have with camera. There is a piece of foam behind the focussing screen that's intruding the view through the viewfinder. It comes in a ways from the corner. I just can't stand something like that.
The camera would be great if not for this. I would love to open up the top myself and simply remove foam, but I don't have the tools. Someone with proper tools could clear this up in no time.
Also with this, I'll include a 58mm f2 Helios lens. The lens has oily aperture blades however. It stops down, but is fairly hesitant. The oil needs to be wiped off the blades, but again, I don't have the tools to open this up.
$50 for all this. |

I know it's possible to remove the screen in a pentax sp1000, but is there a simpler way of doing it then having to take off the top part of the camera?
Actually, I would prefer to not remove the screen, but I want to get at a piece of foam that's intruding into the viewfinder area. It seems somebody once changed the foam behind the focussing screen, overlapped by a fair bit and just left it hanging there.
This camera is in great condition, very clean viewinder, but for this.

Forgot to include a Henimex 7mm fisheye lens with the above. The lens need fixing though. The glass is good, but the aperture mechanism is missing. Someone who knows what he's doing may get this to work. Could likely place something perminent inside that funtions as a stopped down aperture.
I think this was one of the first ever fisheye lenses.

Update:
The SMC Takumar 35mm f2 has a 49mm filter thread and seems to have some yellowing. I was under the impression this version was supposed to be clear of this, guess not....
Nothing some time in the sun can't clear up. Hey... that's something all us Canadians need now. Let's hurry up this global warming thing and be rid of these winters. LOL

Without a doubt, it does happen that sellers drive up their prices on their own using another account. It’s not the case here though. One can’t be too careful though when buying online.
Looking at lens sales on ebay, you often notice bidders with 0 feedback making the first bids on items, often raising the price a dollar at a time. I think they are just looking to get a steal of a deal, which never pans out of course (hence the lack of winning items and 0 feedback). Experienced bidders generally only make one serious bid near the end.

[QUOTE=Pornflake;173961]Why do i have the impression that there's a 0 feedback guy bumping up the price?
Hope you're not infering that it's me doing that :(
If it was me, then I'd not bother with one lousy dollar here and there

I'd love to keep the 50mm f1.2, but I don't have a pentax dslr and I don't want to "mangle" anything to make it fit my canon. It's now listed on ebay and ending on Sunday. I don't have an ebay account myself, so my friend's doing this for me (I provided the photos, the description and will do the shipping). Have a look, maybe you can get it at a good price. |

I'm outside of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Have a couple of pentas 35mm cams. Am just getting into older takumar lenses, interesting stuff. Have a canon dslr at the moment, so I'm using the pentax stuff with an adapter.
This is just a hobby for me. Am mostly interested in lanscapes, weather, and night shots.
