If you are still looking for the triangular rings for your K-1, consider the ones from Fujifilm.
Fujifilm reference.: 4005891
Code EAN: 4260071478696
They are high-quality split rings and are a really nice fit for the K-1 lugs. Also, they come with protective leather pieces. These are about 5 Euro a set here in Europe.
The original Pentax set with 2x triangular rings 38600 & 2x protection plastic pieces 38599 will make your wallet lighter by at least 16 Euros.
The only small downside is that the Fuji triangles are a bit smaller than the original Pentax split rings (~11mm). The original Pentax K-1 strap is 14mm wide, so it will bend slightly in the Fuji ring. I use a 3-rd party strap which is 10-11mm wide, so everything is fine for me.

OK, after reading all the reviews and users' experiences I have decided to try my luck and ordered a refurbished one from Warehouse Deals (Amazon.com) for $553.
It arrived on May 7. Funny enough, it is the same lens as already tested by bigben91682 and returned back to Amazon. The serial # is 9018018.
I gave it a try yesterday, and I can say that it is meeting my [tough] standards.
Although primes will beat this zoom in resolution, the image quality of my copy of the 16-50 is very high. No BF, no FF, and image is sharp. There is a reasonable drop in quality on the edges and some CA, but nothing to worry about.
So, it is GOOD!
It may be well that this lens was sent back to Pentax to fix the issues reported by the previous owner.
