K-1 screen: stupid?

Just a few thoughts. The screen lines up with the optical axis assisting in using live view. Also the screen can be adjusted to assist in both landscape and portrait views.

Ladies and gentlemen.
It is my opinion that a lot of people would rather go with the flow. That is not always the way we, who use Pentax gear, think and act. We like the cameras and lenses Pentax makes. We do not have to march by some other drummer's beat. The perception of which brand excels depends on the whole package. Not just few popular strengths that others might take as a reason to belittle other brands. I think that, although the writers of the review that this thread refers to do no enjoy some of our opinions, it is healthy for them to respond to a little pressure. Their tongue and cheek humor just indicates that they will evaluate what they say more carefully.

Balticbelle

Yes you are probably right. If you look back at some of the included images regarding the no go situation, you will find that the lens mount has a chamfered edge which is the offending party. If you think about how many degrees you turn a lens to mount it, you would have to dress that edge for only the part that interferes when mounting the lens. I doubt that a lot of thickness would have to be removed to clear the misfit.

Sigma announcement about K-1 lens issue

Ladies and gentlemen,
If we stop and think for a minute... It might be possible to dress the offending portion of this ring with an appropriate miniature file capable of cutting the material in a small amount of time. If the adjacent areas are masked appropriately the fine adjustment which is probably no longer than two centimeters could avoid having to send the lens back to Sigma. It is also likely that since the mount is silver in color, that no one would ever know and the K1 would not be damaged in the future. Just a thought, not advice.

Balticbelle

Hello Tjompen,
You have some beautiful images coming from your new K1. I wandered to the right in your photostream ...makes me homesick. I Left Eskilstuna 60 years ago.
