The Kenko Pz-AF Uniplus extension tube has all the contacts (including the two for power zoom/SDM inside the barrel), screw drive, and aperture lever - but they very rarely come up for sale. I've been watching for one for at least a couple of years on the big auction site, local stores, craigslist, etc., and finally snagged one this past week.

It's not made anymore, but have you looked for a Canon Lens Converter P? I've seen them in a few places, and have one for my Canon A1. This site doesn't have it in stock, but does have a fairly nice description of it:

Canon Lens Mount Converter P Adapter for using many M42 Screw Lenses on R FL FD 35mm SLRs FT F-1 FTb EF A-1 AV-1 AE-1P T70 T90 etc

I also see that a Chinon 55mm macro was mentioned earlier, but let me add that there was also a Chinon 50mm f1.7 macro.

That was my thought also. @OP, are there any machinist/machine shops close? A bit of careful work with an arbor press might work. I haven't done anything this delicate, but I have used an arbor press to straighten out a clutch lever for a bike that was bent a little when it fell over in the owner's garage.

Ditto! I'd love to order a copy. Tried to sign up on the marktplaats site with the help of Google Translate, but I could not get past the account verification where the site wanted to send an SMS text - the country code selection for the phone number didn't include +1 for the US/Canada.

AF full-frame ultrawide lens that takes threaded filters ?

There was a similar thread here a few years ago - let me quote myself
The Sigma 12-24mm f4.5-5.6 EX DG sort of meets this criteria. The lens has a permanent petal hood with no threads, but it comes with a slip-on adapter that is threaded, and is what the pinch-style lens cap attaches to. 82mm filters fit the adapter. No idea as to what part of the zoom range could be used with a filter on a FF body without vignetting, as I only have crop-sensor bodies.

My guess is that it’s a reference to one of their hits from the late 70’s - “Time for Me to Fly”.

Great price! But, I wonder if this would be considered a "grey market" purchase for US buyers and cause warranty hassles?

If interested in an electric dehumidifier but don’t want to go the lightbulb route, google “goldenrod dehumidifier”. Works on the same principle - slightly warming the air - but without the glass (which I would surely break by trying to stuff just one more lens into the cabinet). [emoji23]

www.siliconfilm.com perhaps? That’s the one I remember from the early 2000’s. Oddly enough, the web site is still alive, complete with news headlines and copyright notice from the year 2000!

Anyone ever received a camera back from repair with a note in it?

I recently picked up a small kit consisting of a Spotmatic SP, Tak lenses (50/1.4 (7-element), 35/3.5,and 70-150/4.5), a flash, and a right angle finder. Everything appears to be in nice shape except for one spot of fungus on the outside of the rear element on the Zoom, which cleaned up easily and seems to have left no permanent marks.

The reason for this post, though - has anyone sent out a camera for repair and gotten it back with a note written on the camera itself? This spotty has the note "JS 11-16-87 19096 every thing was messed up" written on the film back near where the take-up spool is. I love it! :D

Maybe is was sentimental for someone and worth the cost to repair? I've no idea, but it's nice to believe that it was well used and worth repairing.

Personalized license plates..your favorites

Oh, another one I remember... Years ago, Ohio plates required a sticker with the county name at the bottom of the plate (it's since been replace with a numerical county sticker in the corner). A car where I worked at the time had the personalized tag "TAKESA" and underneath was the sticker with the county name of "LICKING".

For the youngsters out there, Timex's slogan used to to be "Takes a licking and keeps on ticking".

I used to have a personalized (sort of) plate. Ohio offers some organization-related license plates for a bit less than the cost of personalized plates. As I have my amateur radio license, it seemed like a good idea to get my call sign on the plates that read "Amateur Radio" on the bottom of the tag. Even better, it was something like only $10 more than regular plates instead of the $50 premium for vanity plates.

My call sign is N8KDY. Had the plates for several years. Then, one fine day, someone walked up to me in public while I was at my vehicle (and out to lunch with a co-worker, no less) and asked "Does your license plate say 'NAKED WHY'"? He giggled all the way back to work about it.

Next go around I got the regular plates with 3 letters and 4 numbers. :D

In addition to the places already mentioned, let me add usedphotopro.com (the used department for Roberts Camera). They also have a store on eBay using the ID "robertscamera". Most of their items have a 180-day warranty, too.

Wonderful pics! I've got a related lens - a Chinon 50mm f1.7 Macro of the reverse-taper barrel design. When trying to find some info about it, I came across this flickr page that talks about both the 50mm and the 55mm. It's apparently a convoluted history. ;)

Where on Earth can I find a D-BG5 grip lithium battery tray?

Another option is to look for a cheap and/or broken D-BG4 grip with the lithium battery tray. The trays are interchangeable with the D-BG5. I was in the same situation as you, read about the compatibility in an older thread here, bought one (a D-BG4, that is), and can verify that the D-BG4 tray fit in my D-BG5 grip.

Pentax sold an accessory to do this:

https://www.pentaxforums.com/accessoryreviews/pentax-stereo-adapter-49mm-52mm.html

This will create two side-by-side images in one exposure. Originally designed to be used with slide film and a ViewMaster-like viewer, but I’ve found it to work surprisingly well by viewing the pics with one of the inexpensive 3D viewers that you can put your phone in.

I also remember a Vivitar zoom lens that could create a pseudo 3-D picture (anaglyph) that could be viewed with red/blue glasses, but have never had the chance to try it:

Initiating action via PayPal

Happened to me, but not with photography related items. I ordered a DVD for my son that was never shipped. Paypal decided in my favor and refunded me. One thing I made sure to do was use Paypal's "contact seller" function for any correspondence so Paypal had a copy of all communication and they could review as part of my claim. In my case, the seller never responded to any of my communications, so it was pretty painless - just took some time to work through the process and wait for the time limits to expire.

My 360B has the extended baffle also. I believe the 01F teleconverter fits (see Tamron SP Adaptall-2 300mm F/2.8 LD-IF Model 360B), but the 200F and 140F do not fit without shortening the baffle, which I did. Rather than use a saw and create metal filings, I (carefully!) used a small tubing cutter for copper pipe. The baffle is thin aluminum, so it needs a delicate touch. I believe 5.5mm of the baffle needed to be cut off for the 200F and 140F to fit. See the review by pacerr in the PF lens reviews: Tamron Adaptall-2 SP 300mm f/2.8 LD IF - 360B Lens Reviews - Tamron Adaptall Lenses - Pentax Lens Review Database - that's where I first read about the modification and how much of it needed to be removed, although it only mentions the modification with respect to getting the 140F to fit.

YMMV, do this at your own risk, etc., etc. - it's an expensive lens!

For the K3 and K3-II (I cant speak definitively on the K1 since I don’t have one - yet ;) ), there is a remote receiver window on both the front and back of the body. On the back, it’s a small dark red window just above and a bit to the right of the 4-way controller, where the thumb rest is.

You can also use a wired remote (or intervalometer, as posted above) - there’s a jack underneath a rubber cover below the SD card door on the side of the body, right by the button and [1-2] icon used to switch between the two SD card slots when reviewing pics.
