What are your thoughts/experience with SR and how effective it is on the K5?
My issue is that it doesnt seem very effective as taking hand shots(keeping it as steady as possible) will still produce a ghost. This is really noticeable for me when I tried taking pictures of some text on paper.
I have an Olympus E-420 with no iamge stabilization and it seems to be able to take much clearer and sharper pictures. I know this isnt supposed to be the case but it is.
I also suspect a back focusing issue but the above problem isnt a blur, its a second image offset.

When I ordered my K5 from Amazon, it actually shipped out of Stratford, ON, Canada to Texas and didnt have extra charges for duties or any fees outside of the normal shown price.
If you're talking about ordering direct from a Canadian site then I have no idea, sorry.

hate to bring up an old topic but I thought I'd mention that if you take a look at Terra Forums Carnivorous Plant Discussions - Powered by vBulletin (a carnivorous plant forum) they actually have a chat thats only available to members(have to be logged in to see) and just has one room that sits on the main page of the forums. People dont have to use it but I find that surprisingly alot of people do. I think it does make for interesting conversations and more member networking through real time interactions.

I can say that when I had my white Macbook(first gen) I never had any issues with it slowing down over a period of time like the Windows machines. That one aspect of the Mac makes it very attractive to me since I'm a Network Admin and every Windows machine I've ever owned ends up feeling slow after about a year. With the Mac I never experienced this issue. Other than that I have no issues with Windows and think its great as long as you constantly maintain it, keep everything organized on it, and run spyware and virus scans on a consistent basis.
Unfortunately for me, my Mac was stolen a few years back(which I still am quite upset about) but I bought my wife a Mac Mini back in 2008 and the thing still feels like the day we got it, never had an issue with it.
I'd say if you're looking for a used Mac Mini to find a gen 2 or later. You can always speed things way up by replacing the hard drive with a SSD.

I am new to Pentax and a soon to be owner of a K-5 with the DA* 16-50mm. I live in Central Texas and look forward to take some nice shots of the hill country and portraits with my new rig.
Anyway, just wanted to say!
