Hi, this is my first post to this thread. I am a relatively new K-5 owner, and just recently upgraded from a M43 camera. I have never used a lens as wide as the DA15, and I don't think I've quite got the hang of it. I've been very inspired by all the wonderful pictures in this thread. Any tips or suggestions to a newbie?
This is from Mt Rainier this past weekend

Hi! I was wondering if anyone had any advice for a lightweight/compact tripod system for the K-5. My largest lens is the 100MM Macro. I would be using it for some Macro and landscapes/panoramas. I do a lot of hiking and need something lightweight and relatively compact that will fit in/on my pack and won't weigh me down. I've got a gorrilapod, but really need something more.
I've been looking at the Gitzo GT1541T (2nd hand) or GT1542T and either the Markins Q3T or the RRS BH-30. The L plate for the BH-30 looks to me from the product picture like it would make changing the focus selector a challenge with the plate on. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any opinions on these choices or suggestions for other options?
Thanks in advance for any input!

Hi! I've got a Pentax K-5 on the way, I'm new to Pentax as well as to DSLR's. My previous camera was a M43 Panasonic GF1. I like shooting landscapes and nature photos, I do a lot of hiking and outdoor activities which present great photo ops. I also like travel and street photography. My K-5 is coming with the 18-55WR lens, and I've also bought the 70MM limited as a portrait lens. I'd like to also get a top-notch wide-angle and, less importantly, a macro lens. I've researched the forums and online, but haven't come to any conclusions on either of these. Oh, and I've also purchased the K-5 e-book I read about in these forums. If anyone has any suggestions on either lenses or just tips for a newbie to get started with the K-5, I'd really appreciate it! Looking forward to becoming a Pentax owner and participating in this community!
