Took this m31 last night. This has been the worst summer for Astrophotography with all the smoke in this area from all the forest fires and high thin clouds.
Last night the clouds came two hours after setting up. The photo is with my stellarvue 102ed telescope on my cgem mount, camera k5 24 shots at 30 seconds iso 3200
stacked with deepsky stacker cleaned up a little in photoshop. The high thin clouds sneaked in and did not notice for the next 20 shots

Mercury Transits across the sun taken with the K-S2 through a Thousand Oaks glass filter. An Astro Tec 80mmED telescope was the lens. The sunspot dwarfs the disk of Mercury. The articulating lcd screen was very convenient when when shooting into the sun allowing me to look away from the path of the sunlight. Saving eyesight.

Tethering is necessary for astrophotography fine focusing. and remote control. Pentax cameras are good cameras for night sky pictures, tethering will make them
a choice camera for amateur astronomy. Add wireless they could become the preferred camera.

I have been using the Pixma pro 100 for several days. Printed several test pages, then about 10, 8x11 full page color photos and now with the free 13x19 pro semi-gloss, printed 6 full size. I checked the ink levels by removing them from the printer and showed only about 10% usage on the greatest used cartridge. I have refilled ink on HP printers with some success and on older canon printers. The biggest problem I have is dry ink, Living in Colorado where the humidity can be as low as 5% the refilled cartridges clog up fast if not covered properly and if the printer is not used for a while, it won't print. I find my older canon printers ink dried up faster than HP. This is the first Cannon I used for some time and the ink refill kit sold by Precision Colors looks to be widely accepted. There web site explains how to refill, wash out, and what precautions to take when refiling. Will try again when the ink kits arrive. Still the Cannon cartridges so far seem to be a good deal at $108 a set of 8.

Finally managed a capture a photo of Comet Lovejoy with my new ES 127 apo scope and K3. The First quarter moon was very close to the comet and washed out the tail. Photo is 19- 30 sec. exposures 1600 iso and delayed shutter stacked with deep sky stacker.
