I took this 21 shot panoramic during the Garden of Lights. I believe this was around December 10th as my wife and I were practicing for the Garden of Lights 5k Run. 21 shots with my f2 DA 50mm on my istDS. I really loved how the floating dock looked wrapped in blue and white lights with the rest of the park lit behind it.

THIS is how you use a fisheye! I've never seen a fisheye shot that I thought was an excellent photograph! NOMINATED!

I'm normally pretty good at naming jets, so I'm going to name that an Intruder? Apologies if I'm wrong and this shot is SOOO nominated!

We went to the Tulsa Zoo with the girls, and of course I had to try to get some shots of #3 here :) First time I've been that I've heard the elephant trumpet and this was the result.
I'm new at this, so I don't know if it's customary to give process or not, but the only processing done on this image is in the RAW editor in Photoshop, and then resizing.

Yeah that was a bit ambiguous, sorry. I meant the shutter release, but the same goes for photographers as well =P Much like shooting a gun, the less wiggle you create while shuttering, the more 'accurate' - or in-focus - your shot. Proper stance, elbows in, breathe in, breathe out while squeezing.

Matter of fact, myself and the DS are going to attempt. K-3 would be a most gratifying upgrade!
Also, don't sell yourself short folks! The picture is made by YOU, NOT the camera! As long as you can compose, control your light and focus, and remember to squeeze and not poke, you've probably a decent shot at getting picked.

So yeah, just to let yall know, it was a T2 mount and the lens is outstanding for being 40 years old. Posted some pics I took with it in the Photos section.

For those who saw my other thread, it was the T2 mount and not the M42 :) I absolutely love this lens and can't wait to learn how to use a fully manual lens. Here's some shots I did yesterday (December 26) just messin around: |

Ok, just to be sure, it's a Soligor 1:2.8, f=105mm, Serial No. 2710112. I know from researching the serial it's from 1971, so it's a fairly old lens, but I couldn't determine whether or not it was an M42, I just assumed it was. Hopefully it's a T mount so I don't have another adapter running around...

Alright, then I hope he has some M42 lenses I can use or I will have to send the adapter back if I can. Or sell it here.

OOooo awesome. Yeah I'll be ordering that and the Mrs. Christmas present at lunch XD Hope to get to use that lens. So now I have a M42 to bayonet that I waited forever for Pentax to get some in of and nothing to use it with. Have to see if the Father in Law has any old 35mm lenses that will work with it.... Would my adapter work on his Canon Rebel? I was kind of under the impression that a bayonet mount was a bayonet mount but now I wonder...

Yeah I wouldn't mind picking up a DSII if I could find one at a flea market or pawn shop around here (not likely :P). I like TTL for metering, but I rarely use flash :) Actually, I haven't used it for metering in a while come to think.... My lens broke and I just got the replacement yesterday so I'm a bit off my rocker with shooting lately XD

The threads on the lens DID look like they might have been closer together. So that T mount adapter goes from screw to bayonet then? Couldn't really tell from the preview photos. Thanks for the speedy help!

Ok, so when I was in college I took the 2 photography classes they offered, became good friends with my instructor, etc. We had someone give the art department a bunch of older camera gear and he gave me this really neat Soligor lens (I'll have to update the specs on it later, I'm at work) which I assumed was a M42 screwmount. So I got the Pentax M42 to bayonet adapter thinking I was going to get to use this lens. I don't know if I got the wrong adapter or if the threads on the Soligor are botched, but the adapter will make about 3/4s to a full thread on and stop. Given what I have supplied anyone have any idea if I have the correct adapter or will it require knowing exactly which lens I have?
Thanks!
Chris

Good morning! Name's Chris and I just joined the forums. Been shooting with my iST DS for a few years now and I really enjoy my little Pentax, even with it's limitations. Sometimes because of the limitations.... Anyway, it suggested I introduce myself. You know my name and about where I live now, but I'm 28, married, just had our second daughter in April, I'm a graphic designer, and I do graphic related work for my and other area churches. Nice to meet you guys!
