That thing looks nearly identical to the F 70-210 on my K5 right now. o_O

Anyways, +1 to the F 35-70 and 70-210 pair.

I also have an FA 28-105 that takes great pictures, but i rather dislike the power zoom function.

Another +1 to the Plastic Fantastic DA 35 and 50mm. We have those as well.

Got some decent ones. First two are Industar 50-2. Rest are Helios 44k-4. All on K5.

Wife uses LR3 i think. It's just fine, works fine.

I have the CC. Yes, compared to the purchase price of LR3 spread out over years, it's MUCH more expensive. However, it will always be up to date, and since i like messing with things, having PS to learn at my leisure is nice.

It's not a minty copy. If i like this one enough i might try to snag one of the "NOS" copies on Ebay, or just save my money and put it towards the next Soviet purchase. :) I'd like to get my hands on a Zenitar 16.

How do i tell date? I didn't think of there being different import/export copies. Seems almost all that pulled up in Ebay when i searched "Industar 50-2" had the "english name" on them.

Serial is 79008879.

I'm guessing from a quick google search this would be 1979?

Industar 50-2 showed up on Saturday. Fun lens, seems a bit quirky, looks really funny on the camera.

These are unedited test shots.

This one is a bit soft.

I'm ok with the phrasing, personally. The Pentax is over twice the price of the next most expensive in the comparo.

Bad examples, but the weather has been bad and i've been working tons of hours, so i'm kindof limited to what i can shoot near my desk. Helios 44k-4 on a K-5. There's some work in PP, but not a whole lot beyond cropping. Everything shot wide open, just trying to get a feel for this lens.

I feel like what i've shot here does almost nothing for this lens's strengths, but it seems to lend itself fairly well to the warm/dreamy "vintage" look that i tend to lean towards. Compliments my Sears Auto 50mm 1.7 quite well. Just as "film-y" feeling, but but less grain.

This last one was processed as a joke to send to a friend, but he seemed to like it. Maybe he's pulling one over me as payback, but here it is. :P

Finally got one for you, Rupert. :) There's a couple more that might be salvageable, need to do some processing. Shot on an old FA 28-105m zoom. Kindof liking this lens save for the power zoom. Focus was a little strange, probably something i did.

M 28mm f2.8 on K5. I don't particularly like this lens much but it was the only thing i had wide enough to get this.
