Same thing happened with my K-01, After taking a closer look I realised the thing had been glued in to begin with. Glued it back and it has been fine ever since....in fact, I think its better than the original glue job.

Thinking of Retiring my $10 a month subscription as well since I recently tried, then bought DXO Optics Pro. I find that its easier to get the results I want in DXO. There are some tools I would miss if I gave up on my other package, mainly the dodging and Panorama tools.

(leaning towards keeping it though - because i can export to DXO - or Raw for final processing)

Astrophotography with the K1. I think I may be missing something

I think I may be missing something or maybe the camera cant really correct in two axis. It did correct for the rotation of the earth but not for the orbit of the earth around the sun. I cropped the picture to more clearly show the movement in the stars.

Good pixelshift evangelist (Soligor lens ?). One of the best I have seen so far on this forum - unless I am missing something. Curios to know whether a PP was applied (

This camera doesn't cease to amaze me with the latitude it opens (aka margin of screwup ) . This is photo taken shooting directly into the sun (DFA 28-105). I think I am ready to put film to rest.

Ok. Got it, and I didnt go into the manual - wouldnt have found the answer there anyway. While fooling around in the menus on day 1 of receiving my K1 , I had set the FX2 button to select PixelShift mode. While shooting I was accidentally hitting that FX2 button and PixelShift would come on when I didnt want it to.

I dont read the manual, I sleep with it under my pillow so the info can chemosorp. Clackers, Presto ... see ?

The info on how to quickly turn PixelShift off hasn't seeped into my brain yet.

I wont be buying one......price may be somewhere in the $800 range.
Sillyness still allowed.
I think overtime as I get familiar with the controls my finger will be able to find the light switch even in the dark. I still occasional hit the liveview button instead of the play button.
Also, shot an event over the weekend and on three occasions I touched something that caused to camera to switch into PixelShift mode. Havent figured out what I did yet, but I will investigate further - maybe go read the manual.

Some of the bird pictures in this thread. Great images but the subjects look lifeless - to me anyways.

Tamron 70-200 exposure problems and other issues

I have a Tamron 70-200 2.8 - was a dog on the K-01, improved on the K5 and even more on the K5iis - stellar performer on the K1 with some fine adjustments programmed in for tendency to back-focus. Same lens, different bodies. Tried to get Tamron to look at it, they wouldn't respond. I suspect my copy may have been one of those grey market copies so they ignored me.

AF: Which Decides.. Camera or Lens?

I am a bit confused with that question as well. Pentax lens given the fact that the sensor is in the camera, relies on the camera to say when the image is in focus. the lens simply moves when the body says move. The lens has no way of knowing when the subject is in focus. I however can buy the lens contrast argument. I do have one lens , a Tamron 70-200 2,8 , excellent lens, which tends to back-focus so I have to program in an adjustment in the camera. Still confused.

Not a bug, not an "issue", but I found myself smiling when I discovered i needed a flashlight to find the little switch to turn on the K1 lights in the dark. Would have been nice if it was a glow in the dark button or connected to the depth-of-field preview lever.

No need to apologize to anyone. That is a beautiful "photograph". Please excuse my ignorance, but what is "PP" (I finish them in PP) ?
